That we bring the record to better than .500?

This won't likely be the year that, for the second time, the head coach at the junior institution in columbus takes over the head spot at OHIO FOOTBALL.

I did not know this.  We are the only remaining original MAC member. So says the Wiki.

Ohio is now 524-529-48, .49773, 79th best in the country.  A season of, say, 10-4 would put them over .500, and possibly pass Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Nevada-Reno, or San Jose State.

I never realized how high up Popped Collar U and CMU were on that list.

Is that to indicate that we will find Boise on the sched in '16 or '17?

A: Not as high as they used to be.

Could be the year the program crests above .500 all time. The question is has the program under Frank peaked? I keep wondering if 2011 was our year to win the MAC but we collapsed in the second half of the championship game. With the experience of Tettelton I do think its going to be another good year and probably be a lot to handle in a bowl game for an opponent but he's the best QB we've ever had. This is Frank's 9th year. Longest tenure in the MAC and one of the longest among non-BCS coaches (Nevada and Troy are longer). Its hard seeing this program at this point turn the corner like Boise State if it hasn't already.

Most Memorable Bobcat Events Attended
2010 97-83 win over Georgetown in NCAA 1st round
2012 45-13 victory over ULM in the Independence Bowl
2015 34-3 drubbing of Miami @ Peden front of 25,086

My expectation is that the next 2 years will be flat to slightly down, then reach new heights in 2015-2016. I believe 2016 will be the best team in Ohio history.

It's possible, but I would like to think we have not.  While they have had numerous other coaches in the same time we have had Frank, NIU was on the cusp how many times before they finally broke down the wall to a MACC, and then won it two years in a row.  Last year we were served several steamy, heaping scoops of bad luck in terms of injury that hopefully we can avoid this year.

Looking at our schedule it seems to me that there is going to be a critical stretch of games that will define the season, starting on October 26th at home against the Redchickens, two on the road against Beefs and BG, and home against Can't.  If we go 2-2 we will have to watch scoreboards.  3-1 or 4-0 and we should be in the East's driver's seat for the MAC Championship Game.  On paper there is not a team that is the obvious class of our division going in to next year and there should be a lot of parity, with the champ probably having at least 2 conference losses.

I much prefer it when the fans have another team they expect to win.  Put the pressure on them.  Fans seem to enjoy wins more when they are not expected. This roster seems to have experience and if the Shreveport  trip is an indication some playmakers. The team is deep and practices should provide competition that builds the level of play. I really like the seniors.  They have experience, have been winners and have not yet won a MACC.  I would not bet against them.

So much rides on the D-line.  One pundit has surmised (really!) that it will get better as the year goes on.

That stretch of four games--redhawk, beefs, and cant must be solid wins.  BG will be a tough game.

But it's OUr time.

I don't think that this team will disappoint. Last year's team was 9-4, and without injuries could have been 12-1. If this team is "flat to slightly down", they could mean double digit wins.

The relatively weak 2010 recruiting class, the one year under Isphording, limits the upside a little this year and next. That class included some Jucos, now gone (Lefwich twins), plus others that were no shows or who are now gone (Kenny Ashley, Kyle Snyder, Jamal Tarrant, Kyle Kozak, Joe Morales, Joe Stefanski, and Blake Jones). Only seven players remain from that class: AJ Grady, Chase Cochran, Bryce Dietz, Mark Smith, Brandon Atwell, Nathan Carpenter, and Thad Ingol. I'm not knocking these seven players, just pointing out that its a very small remaining group of Juniors, a point at which you expect them, as upperclassmen, to emerge as starters and leaders.
