So you're walking along Richland Avenue and find a metal lamp. You rub the dust off it and a genie pops out. "O, ye master of the lamp! To thank you for releasing me, I will guarantee a regular season football win against any one team on the Bobcats' schedule. Just tell me the team, and your wish is my command!"

Other than North Texas or Austin Peay, because the poll can only have 10 options and nobody really cares about those games anyway, what do you pick?

I chose Louisville, and let me tell you why...

This is the greatest challenge on our schedule.  If we are healthy and we execute, we beat everyone else on the schedule. Period. If we are healthy and execute, Louisville could still beat us. So, If I can pick the guarantee, I'm going with L-ville.

I'd use that same logic. If Ohio can win at Louisville, it should be able to win any other game on the schedule.

Louisville, because the buzz on campus last fall when we were undefeated was insanely awesome. "Magic" is the only word that can describe it.

I've seen crazier things happen.

In my mind this is a no brainer.  Beat Louisville and thirty times as many people will be talking about that win as talked about the win over Penn State.  Many expected the Penn State win based on the disarray that their program was in at the time (that doesn't take anything away from what was a great game).  There are no distractions or excuses in Louisville's case.  It would be the biggest Bobcat football win in the last 40 years.

For me, an opening season road victory over a Top Ten team is a much bigger victory.  The Pitt win was no doubt huge, but at the end of the day, Ohio still had a losing season.  The Pitt win may have been Ohio's most memorable win in recent history, but a win against Louisville on the road would be bigger.

I hear ya' but nothing beats a win over M^%$#! and nothing beats a leg up on the MACC.  I'll take every single MAC win I can get and I'll take 'em over L'ville, too.  I certainly don't want this team's season to be measured by an OOC game in week 1.

Even when we do win at Louisville, there will be a certain stigma attached to the remainder of their season, as in "Yes, they're good but they lost at home to Ohio".  My theory being, that for the time being we are in a position to take some of the luster off OUr own wins because of the general lack of respect we bring into the game.  Lose to OU?  You must not be the team we thought you were.

Anyway, my vote is for M^%$#.  No one can downgrade or take away a MAC title.

I would vote "All of the above."  I want Ohio to beat L'ville just as badly as I want them to beat N. Tex, Terd, AP, Akron, CMU, EMU, Pubic Ivy, SUNY, BGSUcks, Kent or UMass.  Doesn't matter who the opponent is, I want Ohio to win.

Looking at the schedule, the most important game is likely to be Bowling Green. No one other than BG or Ohio is going to win the East, it's that simple.

From a very good team, BG has 9 returning starters on Offense, and 9 on Defense. They also have a very favorable schedule.They are likely to be tested only 3 times, by Ohio, Toledo, and Kent. Of those three, Ohio and Toledo will be home games. If Ohio loses to BG, BG would win any tiebreaker, so the BG game is a must-win game.

MACC would be my vote if it was an option, that is much more important than Louisville, but for the options I pick the Cardinals.  Would be a great way to start the season.

I'm new school...As much as a MAC Championship would mean to me, I think a win over #9 Louisville would mean more to the program. That's my most desired win.

Also, if we could somehow beat the Cardinals, that would prove to me that we can beat any team on our schedule and should be the team to beat in the MAC East.

After Ohio State I automatically think of beating the terds of Marshall because of their terd fans.  A third straight win over marshull would be really sweet!
But, I voted for a win over Louisville because of what it would mean to our program and our prestige.  Also, I'm an old coach and the next game is always the most important game.
So, GO CATS - get Ls'ville.

And, when is O$U on the schedule?

Hard to compare the two (IF Ohio were to beat Louisville). The Pitt win really marked the turnaround of Ohio Football on a national stage at home (for the first time in ESPN primetime?) vs. a former NFL coach. Milestone win for the program that started the success and expectation process we enjoy today when it comes to playing Penn States and Louisvilles. But a win vs. a Top 10 team...wow, that would be something!
