Seemed like a lot of them predicting a win over the Cats and that our run is almost over.  Maybe they'll surprise me, but I still see them right there with UMass for last in the East.

I honestly believe Akron will be noticably improved.

I honestly believe Akron will start 0-7.

I've seen crazier things happen.

Just seems like typical preseason exuberance to me. Every fan base does it when their team is 0-0. For an example of it on our own board, check out the "How good are we?" thread in the basketball section.

Just to note...
Our basketball team is defending conference champions.
Akron's football team went 0-8 in conference last year.

Exactly. There is a significant difference between the two situations.

It's the kind of exuberance that can only be felt when you have a former ESPN analyst on the sidelines and a show-cause order sitting in the office.  Seriously, everyone is unbeaten this time of year, so hope springs eternal.  With seven straight losing seasons -- and three wins in the last three years -- they need to keep hoping or go nuts.  We did the same thing not too long ago.

We will get by.
We will get by.
We will get by.
We will survive.

UCF 38 -- Akron 7.  At least they improved over last year (56-14).
