Let's get it rolling. The football board is too quiet this week.

OHIO 33
North Texas 21

The non-offensive touchdown makes its appearance on Saturday.

Attendance: 23,224

There can't be anything environmentally-safe about a big, green bird of prey.  Chicken, maybe; especially if it's a Tyson chicken.

Oh, the question.

35-31 good guys over bad guys in front of 24,061 sounds about right.

Attendance 23,804

Cats win easily, 31-10.

(of course, I drove my family to Louisville last week thinking OU might have a chance of keeping it close, so I may not be the best sports handicapper.)

Mascot was an inelegant -- otherwise known as gramatically incorrect-- usage by me.

And I had no idea what their mascot was.

Basically my joke failed.

Imagine that.

31-23 North Texas. Mean Green is meaner than you think.

Sorry, hope I'm wrong. Go Bobcats!

I'm feeling OHIO 37 - N.Texas 24 on this one. It will be a nail bitter in the first half then the offense begins to pull away. On the attendance since it is band day and the first game of the season I'll put us down for 25,125. Short of some of the record crowds of last year but up there pretty good. The weather report right now for Saturday in Athens, Ohio is 80 degrees, sunny with a zero percent of rain so there is total cooperation on the weather front.

Most Memorable Bobcat Events Attended
2010 97-83 win over Georgetown in NCAA 1st round
2012 45-13 victory over ULM in the Independence Bowl
2015 34-3 drubbing of Miami @ Peden front of 25,086

OHIO 14, UNT 7
Attendance: 18, 563 (Students use excuse of poor UL performance and stay away in droves)

The offense I saw at UL couldn't score more than two TDs against the Poor Sisters of the Dead. The defense, except for long TD passes, wasn't half bad. Since UNT's QB is probably a lot less mobile and accurate, and probably can't find the open guy as well as Bridgewater, I don't expect nearly as good a passing game.

Alternate Theory: The most improvement a team makes is between its first and second game. Ohio improves 150 percent and blows out the Cards 73-0.

[Some of the this is sarcasm, but I'm not sure exactly which part. I'm still shell-shocked after Sunday. Probably the most miserable game I've ever witnessed, and I've been a Bobcat fan since the 1950s.]

20,103 watch North Texas beat Ohio 31-17.

The lack of beer sales makes this one worse than Sunday in Louisville.

I'm with OCF. I wish I didn't spend the money to go to UL and see that setback. Not to mention every group that touched the field claimed to have 15 National Championship Banners each. Even the beer man has won 7 straight!

Like all of us, I somehow hope this team comes out tomorrow night and shows last week was a fluke (yes UL is good but 49-7 good - can't happen). I just can't figure TT out. Is he burned out? It does happen. I recall that happening to a teammate of mine our Senior Year at Ohio. Is he hurt? Hell, I don't know. I'd hate to think he lost his swagger given his Bowl performance against ULL.

I guess if last year was the ideal way to kick off the season, this year was the worst way to do so.

No idea what to expect which is very uncomfortable to say the least. That said, I'll be making the drive.

Why all the low attendance predictions?

I got a Kids Club email yesterday and it said they are only 400 tickets away from a sell out.  Even offered me 2 free tickets.

There will be moments of great angst I fear - but I think we pull it out 27-24. OFF CO Albin will be a frequent topic of heated discussion through the game. TT will have flashes of glory and despair. Beau will break at least 2/15 yarders up the middle (after much brick wall banging). Vic will pass for 100 yds. Bass will continue to impress - moves to MAC league players K/O return avg lead. DEF backs get burned by at least 2/20 yd plus passes (and they were WIDE open).

We win the turnovers margin - and that ends up the key to the game (I also think we win the penalties margin - but less a game key).

23, 098

About 300 say screw it trying to drive in and get to a place to park (most just go uptown).

About 250 burn out from too early start tailgating and don't make it in.

About 200 students (mostly freshman) Were going to go but there's that girl they met last night who is really not into football so the day after does not include Peden. This Does include adjustment for the opposite scenario with  the girls that go to the game just because the guy they met last night is going.

About 150 students decide to just go to Bong Hill instead (some Mean Green there too)
