TT Throwing Motion

As a high school QB from the late 60s when we threw 6-10 passes a game, I know I am an expert (haha). However, did anyone else note all the fluttering soft throws from TT. Did he even throw one spiral? I thought Vick had much better zip and rotatation on the ball. Anybody else think TT has a problem (injury maybe?)?

TT has never been a strong armed QB, not his game.

I really didn't notice too many fluttering passes. It seemed to me they were mostly good spirals. There were a lot of passes off the mark, though, but maybe that's just because he wasn't feeling comfortable in the pocket. We'll know a lot more after Saturday night's game. It's hard to judge much of anything from one game, especially one where the opponent overmatched Ohio in so many areas.

It seemed to me that TT was asked not to use his legs in this one. Normally, he takes off, but in this game he seemed to go out of the way to avoid it. I thought Vick looked good so that's good for next year or if TT is injured (God forbid). Tyler is our guy, and if there was one good thing about yesterday, he didn't hurt us by throwing INT's. We will see a different TT and team next week, but it is not going to be an easy W by any stretch.

I'm not convinced something is not wrong with TT. There were way too many poor throws and it seemed to me that he was not under a lot of pressure. He's lucky he didn't have 3-4 or more interceptions.

I was wondering something entirely different. TT was limited to just a few plays in scrimmages in both the spring and fall camps. I'm wondering if he needed a live game to get back in synch. I think the team will just continue to improve this year.

I would love to go back and look at the tape of the last 5 games and count how many times he has kept the ball on the read and ran around the end as opposed to hand it off up the middle for no gain. Around the Miami game he stopped running.

I had to turn it off after they went up 28-0, did TT ever scramble or run a read option to the edge with BB? I couldn't figure out why he wasn't moving at all, it was either pocket pass or BB up the gut.

If you watched the game on TV the announcers were talking about his throwing motion being bad and very soft with no spiral. They showed one replay from behind him and he dropped his head and shoulder and was ducking (of course he had good reason with 4 320 lb linemen ready to crush him).

Seems like on some throws TT was shot-putting the ball ala Kareem Wilson. My guess is he is still injured from last year.

Tyler has never had a text book over the top throwing motion but has always had the "slinging" style. For his height this is not a good thing, and leads to less than desirable ball speed.

He may get his throwing motion from his dad. (who the announcers didn't mention until the 3rd quarter. Usually Micky the first thing the announcers talk about in regards to TT).

TT's throwing motion has always been poor. Never been great at the deep ball and out routes weren't his best either. And there were numerous times on Sunday where he did seem to float the ball, threw of back foot, or looked uncomfortable at times. I'm hoping it was first game nervousness and not the competition. He needs to get his confidence back or else Vick will probably get some starts. I think we also gotta put some blame on the O coordinator.

Throws similar to Bernie Kosar but he was 6'5" and could get away with it.

You definitely got the feeling that after UL went up 14-0 that they weren't going to put Tettleton in any situation where he was going to get hurt. I'm thinking of that three and out early where they ran three straight Blankenship runs over left guard and punted. Solich wanted out of there healthy more than anything else. Can't say I blame him.
