Wow, that surprises me, didn't he play a lot in week #1? I know the announcers talked quite a bit about him.

The time or two I saw Dallas in preseason I noticed that Landon needed work on the pass rush. Even tho that's not a DT's primary responsibility and sometimes they're double-teamed, he wasn't getting much of a push, so they didn't need to double-team him. His strength is against the run. I'm sure some team will need help in that area and pick him up.

Landon should be close to qualifying for the NFL pension. I did notice he was getting lots of reps early in the first game and hopefully someone will pick him up.

Great photo!!!! And interesting question, looks like he has only been active for parts of 4 seasons, and you need 4 full seasons to qualify. And it looks like he has quite a bit more to go, that is unfortunate, as he has only been active for 31 games over 5 seasons and appears out of the NFL last season. On an interesting side note, I came across something on the amount of the NFL pension and I was shocked!!!! Info is a bit outdated, the new CBA calls for $200 increments per year up from the 2005 scale. I'd love to see someone pick him up, he's one of my favorite modern Bobcats.

According to former player Todd Christensen, the average payout to a vested retiree in 2005 was $14,500. Click on the 'NFL Pension' link to read his article.The pension payout is based on number of years and when you played. There have been many changes to the collective bargaining agreement but to date the older players still seem to suffer. The payout is on a sliding scale ex... 230 dollars per month for 1st credited season, 300 dollars for 2nd credited season and so on. Keep in mind that you have to have a minimum of 4 seasons to qualify. When you do qualify you will begin to get your pension at the age of 55 until you die.
