Before last night, Georgia Tech, a triple option team, averaged 345.3 rushing yards per game, good enough for 2nd in the nation.
Last night, Virginia Tech held them to 129 yards rushing, dropping their average down to 291 rypg, or 11th in the nation.
Marshall ran for 133 yards on VaTech. Marshall only ran for 116 on us.
Now, it's not a perfect comparison, because Marshall was playing from behind against us and playing with a lead for most of the game against VaTech, and VaTech is going to focus on stopping the run vs. GaTech and the pass vs. Marshall. And I am not going to argue that our D Line is definitely better than VaTech's.
But to the extent the transitive property does apply, those numbers are very interesting....
