Hate to see it, but it's better it happened this week than after MAC play starts.  Let's hope it's a one-time thing.  We need him on the field.

Shouldn't it be burritos in Athens?

Actually this is from a violation that occurred last winter. The coaches were allowed to choose what game he was suspended. Logical choice, you sit them for AP

If this were Friday Night Lights, Frank's choice would be deemed unethical and Connie Britton would try and talk him into suspending Bass for the Louisville game (which he doesn't). But then we get crushed by Louisville anyway and Frank learns a valuable lesson about compromising his principles.

Well, I guess it's a good thing to know he wasn't doing something stupid in mid-season. I'd rather they get through the off-season, too, mind you, but problems in the middle of the season are even worse.

Paul, you must know a lot about this case to accuse coach of compromising his principles.  Not sure coach would for Bass who when such a decision was made was a third string CB. But, Paul, nice to know you are out there waiting with the "Gotcha."  So, Paul, what was the violation?  Was the player council involved?  Were there recommendations made, any extenuating circumstances, any mitigating circumstances?  Did this matter even get to coach Solich? It likely did, but, I don't know, do you?

later, Frank and Buddy Garrity catch up over dinner at Casa, each ordering their usual- To The Hills. Frank likes his with black beans, Buddy prefers refried with a side of jalapenos.

Frank is mulling over the criticism from Tami but Buddy is in his ear telling him he did the right thing by waiting to sit out 37 until after the Marshall game. Buddy played (3rd string) for the Bobcats from 81-84 so he didn't get to play against Marshall, and its always bugged him. Buddy reminds Frank- losing to The Herd is not an option. Frank eats his beans and rice quietly.

in next week's episode Garrity Motors tries to donate funds for a new video scoreboard on Victory Hill but a group of OU professors try to convince McDavis to reroute the revenue to Housing to assist the grad students displaced with the closing of the Wolfe Street Apts.

Tettleton, Blankenship and Foster spend their free weekend out at Strouds Run, taking it easy. OHIO forever.

God forbid you chime in after the bowl, NT, Marshall or AP, acknowledging any of the positives.

That is true, I've been particularly negative of late. I was annoyed that a highly veteran staff, that has been here for a decade, didn't have their team fired up and ready to go for the opener. But the Marshall win was great and things are looking up. I'll try and dial back the negativity.

PGraham, I, too, thought we'd do better vs. Louisville.  But then Louisville came out for the first play from scrimmage and the 'nouncers said that their O-line averages 321 lbs and our d-line averages 271 lbs--50 lb difference!

Then, I saw how very many, very young d-line we played.  There was no way that we could have won that game to start the season.

And, yes, we are right on track to become a better team each week.  I still think this is going to be a totally solid year.

He actually went to OU, so his opinion matters infinitely more than yours. Maybe if you had, you would've read his post in the proper context.
