And he consoled Adrian Peterson after the game:

Carolina Panthers v Minnesota Vikings

Great quote today from the Panther radio team - "Mitchell likes to hit you so hard it hurts your family."

Is that for real? That's in very poor taste considering their opponent.

Ya, its in poor taste, but an on-air radio team has approximately 4 hours of air time to fill, and they're not necessarily able to think about how any phrase they say might be takenin the worst possible context. Willing to give them a pass here for an unfortunate turn of phrase.

Eugene Robinson has a history of not always doing the right thing

They were caught up in the moment - another wicked shot by Mitchell.  Commented on how he loves to hit - even if it costs the team 15 yards.  Then rolled into the comment.  The hit was not on Peterson - or else I could see the issue being raised.  Rightfully, they brought up Peterson's loss at the beginning and sent thoughts and prayers.  And then did not raise it again.

It was clear what they meant -- a family member of the guy getting tackled sitting at home could vicariously feel the pain.  To stretch this to be about Peterson is fairly absurd.

Correct. I think we're all being a little sensitive.

Against the Rams today: 8 solo tackles, a sack & 2 TFLs.  Solid day.

He also took Bradford down on a tackle as they were going out of bounds, looked like clean hit from our seats.  Game got chippy and out of hand after that.  One of the Rams' linemen was targeting Mitchell.  Literally came off the sideline and confronted Mitchell.  He held his poise.

Side note: Panthers start Mitchell, Josh Thomas (Buffalo) at CB and Chase Blackburn (Akron) at linebacker.  Any other team in NFL starting multiple players from the MAC?

Steelers do:
QB Big Ben (Miami)
WR Antonio Brown (CMU)
K Shaun Suisham (BGSU)

There may be others, but Pittsburgh is the first one that came to mind.

I think it is important to note that they are starting 3 MAC players on a TOP 5 NFL Defense.
