That comes with a Texas sized asterisk. First five games: Marshall, Kentucky, Cincinnati, etc. last two games: MAC bottom dwellers Akron and UMass.

Finn, you beat me to it.  The thing they're doing is throwing more -- opening up the offense a bit -- but it hasn't helped their running game yet (77 yds vs Akron last week).  Their last five games are against Ohio, BG, Buffalo, Kent & BSU, so the soft part of their schedule is over.

Oh, deity of your choice, please don't tell me this is a prelude to 'I told they are a good team' if we don't perform very well against a quite terrible redhawk.

The post about how terrific TT and our receivers have been lately are your case for why we should whomp on redhawk.  Don't backtrack.

It doesn't matter if they are better or not, though I tend to agree with finn. All that matters is that Miami is beaten.

Gawd! Through their first 5, Miami averaged less than 98 rushing yards per game WHILE RUNNING A TRADITIONAL RUN-HEAVY OPTION LOOK. (that works out to about 2.5 yards/rushing attempt, with the caveat that the average includes yards lost due to sacks). How is that even possible?

And before you say that they faced GREAT competition...4 of those first 5 opponents are worse than average against the run (Cincinnati being the exception). The teams they played their first 5 games against (Marshall, Kentucky, Cincinnati, Illinois, CMU) give up, on average, 184.86 rushing yards/game (FBS median = 165.1) and allow their opponents to average 4.48 yards/rushing attempt (FBS median = 4.2).

Can anyone tell me how they managed to take UC late into the 4th Quarter with a 0-0 tie?  When I tuned in that game it was still 0-0.  From that point on it was all UC and Miami looked like the horrible team that they are.  But what happened in the previous three and half quarters?  Any one here watch the earlier part of game.  Was UC playing their third team to rest the starters for the next game?

Monroe, I found this and just put this out there.  Sir, I have put nothing out anywhere for why we should whomp on anyone.  Setting standards is your deal.  Being upset when they are not met is your deal.  I will not join in.  I will be here hoping they do well and are not injured, though, I know there will be some.  Ohio has the right people running the program and I will stay with them through hell or high water.  That is my deal. Simple.

UC was virtually playing without a QB.

No standards!  No expectations that we should perform up to any reasonable levels!  Everyone gets a trophy!
