Wouldn't you love to see a power I formation once in a while with Edmonds and any other RB we have?  Bet that beats Beau up the middle for 1!

Yes, I'd like to see some power I, with Edmonds as the FB. Maybe part of the problem is that Ohio's offense is now not that different than a lot of other team's offenses. It's not a bad thing to be totally different, so that the other teams don' t have experience defending against it.

I've noticed a lot of teams run it in specific situations.  I believe I saw tOSwho using it inside the 10 yeard line in one game.  Have seen others use it too.  You are right, I think one of OUr problems is the better MAC teams have caught up to or passed whatever slim lead we had on them in the way of the pistol offense.  And, seems like we run so few plays its gotta be easy to prepare for us.

I still think that we have enough talent (depth, health) to have a totally solid running game.

Time to see it.

When that's in place, we roll...passing more effective, etc.

I really agree with this L.C.   I think that's one reason that Grobe was successful at Ohio.  He was running the triple option offense when almost no one else was.  Most teams only saw it once a year, and had trouble making the proper adjustments in just one week of preparation.  I'm also reminded of Oberlin College in the old Ohio Conference in circa 1970.  They had a coach that ran the single-wing offense when everyone else was running a more "modern" offense.  They had about the lowest talent level in their league but pulled upsets on a fairly regular basis.

From what I see (doubtless a questionable premise), we run very little new or different stuff from game to game.  We are easy to scout.

Hence, my agitation for such as two back sets, hurry-up, screen passii, etc.

It makes no sense that we've had a solid running attack for a good number of years, that the quality of our O linemen is improving and their health is reasonable yet we can't run.

Let's establish the basic.
