That's how much we've been outscored in the last four, uh, six quarters (23-0 in the second half at Buffalo; 49-0  tonight).

And to make it worse, Toledo is pummeling Buffalo tonight, so we could've still been in the hunt.

Insert knee-jerk "disband football" post here.

(In all seriousness, though, that is pretty unbelievably awful...)

I sat in DP Stadium for a little more than half of Knorr's last trip to BG -- it was 38-17 at the half and I was pretty disgusted with it.  We wound up losing 72-20something.  This is MUCH worse.

Interesting.  I was going to post that the last 3-4 halves of football put us in danger of being in k-word territory.

Solich has lost this team.  Wow.  Never thought I would type that.  Sad.

Worst loss of the Solich era.  I understand that our defense is young and has issues.  I don't understand why our offense is equally inept in the last few games.  It seems to me that a lot of it has to do with being too predicable.  I just about fell out of my chair when the very first play of the game was Beau up the middle.  It kind of set the stage for the entire game.  Then a little while later there was a fake Beau up the middle, but it didn't fake out anyone and TT was sacked for a loss.  I could see that one coming.  There is something terrible wrong here.  I don't think that either Buffalo or BG is that much more talented than we are.  There are some intangibles here.  We don't seem to have any fire in the belly.  Frank's teams have always been noted for never giving up and their relentlessness regardless of circumstances.  That attitude has been completely lacking in the last two games.

My solution: Monroe for offensive coordinator, and Pataskla for defensive coordinator.  Couldn't do worse.

When you lose like this, it's either overwhelming talent or an absolute huge disparity in fire.  We're lost.  We have no fire in us.  I know that a lot of fans will be unhappy with an 8-4 finish because of what could have been, but I will be very happy to see us come together and finish the season on a high note.  Getting to a bowl game and winning would make me somewhat satisfied compared to how crappy the past couple weeks have been.

Two Novembers in a row.  Something is wrong here.  And, I would argue that BG and the Buffs have talent light years ahead of ours.  Both are flat out bigger, faster and stronger on both sides of the ball.  Seriously, that playing calling is predictable and horrid.  And, can anybody on this team tackle/hit hard and knock someone backwards off their feet.  The last two games have been as bad as anything in the knorr era.

Just got home from the game.I have serious concerns about whether or not we can beat Kent or UMass. It was very obvious from the stands that this team has quit. Lots of laughing and joking on the sideline. Looked like it was all a big joke. Tyler Tettleton has to be the biggest disappointment. Complaining and whining after nearly every play, slapping hands with BG players after a negative play, the idiotic personal foul call. Last year he was one of my favorite Bobcats ever and embodied everything you wanted in a player. Leadership, toughness, character. This year has been every bit the opposite of that.

I agree.  I get the impression that TT is just going through the motions.  To be fair, it looks like the OL is also just going through the motions.  There has ZERO chemistry.  Last year we blame it -- legitimately I think -- on injuries.  What's the reason this year.

Right now I'm watching UT and UB play.  This looks like a real football game.  UB trying to come back from a big deficit.  No quit in these guys.

72 unanswered is pretty incredible.

It's all because of that ref and the 4 yard line safety.

What have we actually ever won with Frank Solich? A couple who cares bowl games and a bunch of wins against MAC patsies. I didnt realize the next level was basically being a clone of Ball State or Bowling Green. What a joke

Yes, Tettleton quit...but awhile ago.  Not just these 2 games.   You've noticed that he's not running at all this year.  That's simply his way of protecting himself for the NFL Combine.   His focus has been on himself, not on team this year.   Irony is that with his poor passing performances in recent games, he may not even get much of a tryout.

In the Miami game when he needed to go back in the game because another QB was dinged, he pouted.  Do you remember how he was taking snaps in 4th Q and barely moving to hand the ball off.  It looked odd from the stands, but now it's clear.

Frank, play the guys who want to play for team and University.  If you can't see that, then there are bigger issues afoot.

Go Cats.

This message is filled with unfair assumptions.  TT is a smart guy, he has to know his senior season performance isn't helping his NFL skills.

Its going to ruffle some feathers but I would argue that Brian Knorr had he stayed as coach of the Bobcats could have largely won as many games as Frank Solich with the same players. Players want to be here. Everyone in the state likes OU. Solich was a good hire from where this program was in 2004. Its time for an upgrade. Think OSU here; from Bruce to Cooper to Tressel to Meyer they've upgraded each time out. If the team finishes without a bowl its time for Frank Solich to get the pink slip.

Sorry, TT has never been NFL material.

Tonight was horrible but let's see how the rest of the season plays out.  It's getting bad...close to the k-word...but let's not forget the general uptrend and the bowl wins.

Clearly, though, there are problems with our offense.

By the way, I've always thought that LaVon's grab at the goal line at the end of the Potatoes was a huge, huge, huge grab.  WIthout it, we're probably still without bowl wins.

I agree with Monroe about TT and our past accomplishments.  But right now, this program appears to be in freefall.  There appears to be no team leadership, and without any leaders stepping up, I'm not sure there's much Frank can do.

One more thing.  Performances like this sure do not help us recruit players like Joey Burrow.

The difference of course is Knorr wouldn't have been able to recruit this type of talent.

My question is tho, I see Buffalo and BG's players with more SIZE and speed and what looks to be talent. Why is it a school like Buffalo can recruit these types of players and we can't? We have been an established MAC program for quite a while now. Why aren't we going after these type players?I look at our offensive line and it looks small compared to just about every team we play. Same goes for the defense. We can get away with small against the lesser talented teams but it doesn't fly when you hit descent competition.

Seems everyone else has gotten bigger and faster and better talented, while we continue to recruit the same as always.

Because they have malls in places like Buffalo!

All joking aside it is something that frequently catches my attention too.  Our average olineman looks less imposing than the average olineman of most programs and I don't get that.  I know that rebuilding programs have to overachieve for a few years with average to below average talent but I would think that we would be in a place where higher end recruits would be coming in droves.  I know I am biased but we offer at worst one of the top 3 overall classic collegiate experiences in our conferences for a student.

Something I was thinking about was how easily we could have dropped our last 3 against BG.  This year was nothing short of an absolute mauling.  Last year we certainly contributed to their success with our own self destruction.  But  even two years ago, when they were in a certain rebuilding mode, they arguably outplayed us and we stole one at the end with a field goal.

What's most discouraging is what appears to be a lack of interest, effort, and especially heart.  The team has been sleepwalking ever since that safety last week. I hate to see the team lose but it's easier to swallow when I know we got a 100% effort.  I've got a hard time believing that's what the team put forth last night.

OK, I'm about to say something that is probably not going to be super popular, but....at this point I don't know that I want Joe Burrow. Very talented? Absolutely. BUT, it appears right now that we have an attitude problem, and I don't know that bringing in a player to be the annointed-one who is also the son of a coordinator and possible head-coach-in-waiting is good for team attitude.

That is not a criticism of a high school junior....I don't know young Mr. Burrow, and he may be a fine young man with a great attitude and work ethic. But after watching the past 2 years, I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous about how the team might see it and whether the coaching staff can maintain the right attitude for the team.

Who have you seen hold TT up as an NFL QB?  There was one post were the poster surmised TT was not running to protect himself for the NFL.  I have never seen anyone project TT in the NFL.

2 in this thread alone have made those statements.

There have been a few over the last year, not the majority of opinions, however there are a few out there.
