I took it. My take is - they're testing the waters for how much they can take us for ticket/seat fee/concessions/parking price increases next year. Wonder why they did not do this several games ago?

I'm wondering if this is a real survey since options in the first question include identifying yourself as being a "suite owner" or "partial season package holder" - two options that I was not aware were being offered by Ohio Athletics.

It sounds to me with the survey they are beginning the process to make some improvements to the stadium. Improving the parking situation was my top priority. The lot constructed between the IPF and Peden I'm sure will be another source of premium parking. This year they've had tailgating at the Ridges and now that they've accepted the idea of parking shuttles they could lease land at the Athens Fairgrounds as a free RV and tailgating park. Fans would still pay the blue lot fee to get closer but at least if gives you the space to get a critical mass of tailgaters together.

It appears to be a class project run by the Sports Admin program. My thought is that they're doing this at 100's of schools around the country...hence the suite holder language.

Notice in the post above, "Ohio University" is bolded like a fill-in-the-blank. Fans at LSU and Cal might be taking the same survey.

That's my thought, at least. I don't think there's any malevolent intentions here to jack up prices or something. It's just a class project...

This.  Heck, from time to time I see requests for in-person studies form the sports marketing and admin program.  Even though the compensation is nominal, I've done them.  I like giving my input, and maybe, just maybe, someday they'll listen to my complaints that Convo ought to have diaper changing tables in the men's restrooms (not just the women's).

Twelve years ago, when our son was just an infant, we stopped at a Wendy's near Sunbury.  They didn't have diaper changing tables in either restroom.  My wife was pissed, and hasn't been back to Wendy's since.

Parking is horrible.

The Central Game there was a lot on W Green without a single car in it and was closed. Same for Miami,.

At the Central game I parked in a grass lot  off Moore Ave and tried to pay the attendant  who told me the lot was full after I parked and went to track her down to pay her.  I told her there were still 10 spots left. 10 minutes later I was allowed to pay her $5 to park where I had all ready parked.

I can remember the days too that you got to the stadium 45 minutes before the game and parked right beside the Convo. I think the difference is now they are reserving lots as priority parking and when those lots and spaces go unsold they don't let anyone park there.

Loved the question "what is one thing that the university/ team can do to ensure your support" (or something close to that)

my answer - Beat Miami...

So let me get this straight. Athletic Department folks (or students) come to the site and post a form letter survey that is due the next day. Great work guys!

I asked someone "in the know" at volleyball tonight about this thing...it's a Sports Admin class project that they're doing for every FBS school. Their primary methodology is to go through fan forums. Not sure if that's the best way to go about it...can't imagine it would be much of a representative sample.

This type of stuff makes me wonder about this #1 ranking, that and the fact they cannot even order the right color shirts!

Let me rephrase.  I'm not getting the sense that this was anyone's Master's Thesis.  I'm not getting the sense that this data is going to be used for any meaningful change.  I get the sense that this was probably for some typical methods class.  I'm not going to be overly critical.

Did some digging and came across this article.  Looks like it is nationwide and actually fairly significant.  My guess is that it won't really effect changes at individual schools, but will give a snap shot of college athletics in general.  I had a friend send me an email he got from another school to take the same survey, the Ohio University Logo was on the survey.  I think it makes us look pretty good when we are partnering with a national company to reach out to college fans across the country.

This "survey" was lame at best.  Trying to ask the same set of 40 questions to so many different situations is crazy.  If you really want to get any idea what people think, randomly bring 50 folks into the Convo, offer them some refreshments and have an outside facilitator run the show.  OU did that a few years ago and then ignored what the folks had to say.  I started to take the survey but after page 4 called it a day.  Would love to know who the faculty adviser is for this project.
