This seems to simply follow a weekly trend, every week it's fire the strength coach, the marketing guy, the new Evan Shaw, the OC, the DC, the AVI guy, the DARE officer, so who's the lucky person this week?

The scoreboard operator. We didn't put up enough points with all that offense.

Rooting for Akron is like cheering on the Taliban.

I think I'm gonna say fire whoever does the offense play calling. We have to meny tall fast guys on the outside. to be running the ball up the middle every play

I still feel Albin is hurting the team. No creativity, the Cochran bomb was great, but why only once every few games. Also, I believe it was also the first play of the Monroe-louisiana game, he  finds something that works,  and in a predictable manner runs the play over and over. News flash, other teams watch film.

It was not mentioned much because Louisville kicked our butts so bad, but Louisville started the game with a hurry up offense. A great thought out offensesive plan. Their defensive coordinator says he is going to load the box. What does Coach Albin do, he proceeds to run 6 straight running plays into the box. Matt millen on ESPN, was yelling this won't work. Everyone on the board was disgusted also. Instead of building TT confidence, by the third series it was damaged.

Has TT gotten better during his career. I feel that he has not, I feel his confidence has been hurt by the lack of creativity/core compentcy in the offensive play calling.  Does anyone know why Tyler runs the ball so little these days?

Last year, we had two weeks to prepare for the Miami game. Zero trick plays for that  game. When we get the ball on the oppositions 40! IE louisville this year, and Miami last year, we are inept.  We settled for two field goal try's in the second half. Painful to watch.

Just my humble opinion.

Love from NJ

Up 21-4, 4th down and less than one inside the NT 25 and we don't put Boykin in to get the first down?  Could have put the game away there.  Big oops in my opinion.  (Beau was stopped for no gain.)

My choice for the weekly firing is whoever is in charge of the stadium music.  The pregame music was absolutely horrid - bad 80s hair band stuff that no one had ever heard before and never wants to hear again.  And then there really wasn't an entrance song for the team.  I loved the Kanye West "Power" entrance song.  Seemed to get the crowd pumped.  Last night the team just ran into the stadium randomly during a Kip Winger track.  Difficult to get pumped up for that.  Awful.

That is my only gripe.  Other than that, great day in Athens.  Weather was perfect, great student turnout and participation, a win and even saw Frankie Muniz from Malcolm in the Middle randomly walking outside of Jackie O's.  Very weird.

The guy who hasn't started the Marshall Game Thread yet.

I'll tell ya where we'll go. Someplace warm. A place where the beer flows like wine. Where beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano. I'm talkin' bout a little place called... ATHENS.

two offensive touchdowns for our home opener? I don't give a rats ass how many yards we got. Our offense stumbled and bumbled through this game.

Whoever designed the graphics for the video board. My eyes aren't what they used to be, but even if they were, the font is too small to read on the board we have..

I think there may be something to this.  In my opionion it was obvious near the end of last season that he was not happy with the play calling, and he may be starting to feel the same this year.  It is still early, lets hope it gets better....

Special teams were again not great this week. Another missed field goal. 1 fumble. Multiple penalties. We had to go for it on 4th and 1 on the 19 because we have no confidence in our field goal kicker. That was a major momentum change in the game and another 3 points could have potentially put the game away. It was nice to at least see the last couple made. It seems Green has a strong leg. And I still don't think we've seen a team bring the full punt rush yet.

The director for the ESPN 3 broadcast.  About half the time Ohio had the ball the shot focused on NT's defense.  T2 was barely in the shot, and sometimes not at all.  The ball was snapped and disappeared off the screen.  Couldn't tell what the hell was going on until the ball or the runner crossed the line.

You think that was bad you should have heard the intro music for volleyball with the treble turned up to 11. It made your head hurt. On a positive note the introduction of cash registers sure sped up the concession lines.

My choice is the ESPN3 color guy.  I can live with the east coast accent but he said "Ohio University" approximately a billion times.  It was like nails on a chalkboard.  If he had been working one of the other games last night would he really say "The University of Michigan has really struggled on third down tonight"?

The play-by-play radio voice of the Bobcats.

In about a 45 second on-air after the score became 21-14.

He called it Meen Green up 21-14 --head to break.

After the kick receive: 1st play Boykin gets a first down.  Something like: " That was a really big first down and something the Bobcats really needed." (too much drama early in the 3rd and on first down)

Next play the pick and then fumble. "Well the Cats have the ball back but its 2nd and long"  Whoops, change of pocession and its really Bobcats ball 1st and ten.

Then first play after the pick/fumble and Boykin runs, " Boykin up the middle (spoken as if a futile play) and runs into a white wall for nothing......tick tick tick ....oh Boykin just pushed the pile and gains 4 yards"

Then he was back to his usual Top Voice in the MAC.   The moral is we ain't all perfect all the time!!

Our play-calling on third and short is not very imaginative.  I'm not calling for double reverses with a backside george reverse.

But putting guys in motion, or four wideout sets,  or sprint/draw option,  or fake run and pass, or the play where can run by giving to wideout sprinting in motion or to running back or qb keeps it...at least until our O-line develops enough to get a yard on anyone.   Plain vanilla straight ahead up the middle is not working at this point.

Where's the band?!

That's why he's on ESPN3 and not one of the mothership networks.

BTW, who gets to see the commercials they run during breaks?  On the feed I got (and the one that's available for replay) for every break they ran slideshows of sports photos from the previous week.  The same set of eight or ten photos over and over again.  I seem to recall seeing at least some ESPN promos during breaks in previous ESPN3 feeds.  Was it just that they didn't have any spots to run last night?

The "fans" with the grey F-150 in Tailgreat Park who thought it was a good idea to blast the Buckeye play-by-play broadcast for all in range to hear. Paul Keels sounds like he needs an enema.

+1...also liked the new TV's at concessions. Now if only the restrooms could see a little improvement.

For what it's worth, I liked the music selections. It was a solid mix of classics, country, and top 40...along with a few selections that appeal more to the players. You can't please everyone, but I appreciate the variety.

I think the timing was off due to the kids forming the tunnel.  Took a little longer that they thought to get it organized.  Plus, there was a slight delay when Rufus couldn't get the motorcycle going.

On a side note, I thought it was great that they let the kids on the field to form the tunnel.  My son who is almost five was absolutely thrilled to be able to do that.

That's nice that they did that for the kids.  Still need to improve the tunes.
