Temple announced the discontinuation of baseball, softball, men's crew, gymnastics, indoor and outdoor track and field, and women's softball and rowing today.

Wow.

Also surprised their overall budget will be $41 million after cutting all those sports and saving $3 million.  Makes me wonder where all the money is going when you compare it to Ohio and other MAC school budgets.

Ohio did the same thing not too many years ago. With Title IX, it's hard to offer much in the way of Men's sports other that Football, Basketball, and Baseball. Not many schools have 24 sports anymore.

when the subject of paying college athletes comes up why doesn't anyone mention title IX? That creates quite a problem unless the female athletes are also going to be paid.

TitleIX is a crutch, call it what it is, they want/need more money for football and basketball. Look at OHIO's cuts, those cuts happened and that money was absorbed by other sports.
