Ohio with the 2013 Beef O' Brady bowl has now appeared in 8 different bowl games tied with NIU for first in the conference and never a repeat appearance. 10 years ago Ohio fans didn't think they could make a bowl game without winning the MAC. To go to five different bowl games in 5 years was unimaginable.Ohio isn't the first school thought of for football tradition in the MAC but now stacks up well compared to the top schools in the conference. Keep in mind only NIU, Ohio,Toledo, Bowling Green and Miami have ever won a bowl game. There are more bowl games today and MAC schools keep choking in them. Miami has participated in 9 bowls, one more than Ohio in the history of its program. Frank Solich has scored his 3rd non MAC affiliated bowl in 4 years. In 2014 the MAC has new bowl games so there is a chance he could send the program to 8 or 9 different bowls before retirement.
