I was doing something that mattered so I missed the game between columbus and Michigan State.

Who won?

My bad; I phrased the question poorly:  Who lost?

Cowtown U.  (aka Ohio A&M, or O$U)

Affectionately known in these parts as The Evil Empire.

Wouldn't we better served worrying about our own team getting better than cheering on others to loose? Especially when we closed the year like we did.

Couldn't agree more and that comes from someone who delighted in seeing MSU win last night.  The problem is we have become a "tear down" society.  For some reason we seem to revel in the misery of others.  It's not a new phenomenon - heck the Eagles sang about it in Dirty Laundry 31 years ago.  It just seems to have gotten worse with social media and instant access and shielded posting.

Lighten up, sports fans.  I've been told that I criticize The Good Guys too much and agreed to stop.  Naturally, that gives rise to appreciating the stumble bumble by columble.

I think our #1 concern should be with why we're not involved in post-season.  But those of us in the Columbus area get so over-Buckeyed by the media that it's just a natural reaction to take a little joy in their losses.  I've developed a code with my wife for letting her know when O$U loses: "There is no joy in Cowtown."  And it was really good that they were beaten by a team that wears green & white.

We will get by.
We will get by.
We will get by.
We will survive.

The etymology of schadenfreude predates Christ, so I don't believe it is a modern notion.

The Few, The Proud, The Bobcats!

And for the record, I hate tOSU, and Ricordati and Torgerson are DB's.

I'd just like to add that Dirty Laundry was a solo work by noted jerk Don Henley.

You mean that if I had cheered for tOSU we would have won against Buffalo, BG, KSU?
