We're up by 3 with about 10 min to go and I don't know this will end, but I'm damn proud of how this team has played today.  They could've packed it in after 14-0 and didn't.  We have had the best team on the field today.  Great job!

Refs found a way to ruin a game for us again. That wasn't even close to a penalty

Those two calls, especially the first one, completely changed this game. Too bad considering there's been about 10 times ECU was wholly deserving of an unsportsmanlike flag in this game.

This is a poorly coached and played game. I am not proud. East Carolina running back is looking like Adrian Peterson. Tettleton, won't run and Vick is on the bench. We have to constantly burn timeouts and we are on the verge of losing. Tettleton is not our best quarterback. There quarterback makes a catch in double coverage. What are we proud of?

Can't believe Tettleton just flat out refuses to run the ball.
Senior QB also scrambles 10 yards behind the line of scrimmage and then tip-toes out of bounds and does not throw the ball away?
This from a senior QB?
Weak finish to career.

Since Oxford last year he is basically a different player. Weird end to the 2nd half of his career

The coaches have allowed our teams to tail off at the end of the year. This is embarrassing. I love our players, we need better coaching from our coordinators. We played very soft today. We lost the battle of the trenches on both sides of the ball. Next year, we have to get tougher and execute better. We need to use Chase Cochran more. Go cats!

This is not all on TT. He had horrid blocking the whole game and was injured at one point. He actually did run the ball a couple times and converted big first downs. He played about the best he has all year. Let's face it, the team was no good this year. Had no business beating Marshall or being competitive in this bowl game. But look how far the program has come. It wasn't very long ago that people would be thrilled with 7-6 with a competitive bowl game. Basketball team is looking good, and recruiting for both is the best I've ever seen. New start next year.

He made horrible calls on the read option. He played with no emotion and made several mental mistakes. The coaches should have pulled him. They allowed him to embarrass his self. He played no where near his best. His play was not the only reason that we lost, the coaches are to blaim our defensive line got manhandled. Stop blaming the offensive line TT has been horrible.

BS. We had every business because guess what... We won that game against Marshall and we were competitive today.    Were they as good as we hoped? No, but to say they weren't any good is just as wrong.

We were once again beaten badly in the trenches. Period. End of story.

I was surprised at how well prepared we were we just didn't make enough big plays.  As I feared, our tackling was really lacking.  And, obviously, so was our blocking.

The team is decent, the execution and discipline is terrible. I am glad we got to play in a bowl game, but we need to win these games. I don't care about beating Marshall. We want to win championships. We did not look good today period.

In my corporate work, a core mantra was "continuous improvement."  Since going 10-4 and playing with fire in 2011, Ohio slipped to 9-4 and now 7-6.  Not what could be termed continuous improvement.

And running out of gas?  Jamie, you've underscored my contention that Ohio's strength and conditioning needs upgrading.  If no such upgrading is brought to bear, can we reasonably expect a stronger, better conditioned Ohio team next season?

Even more disturbing than seeing Ohio out-muscled and out-conditioned was seeing it  blown out 4 times.  Whether it's a change in OC, DC or a position coach or two, the staff needs a presence who can put the grit back in the Cats that we saw in seasons past.

I'm hoping that Coach Solich recognizes and acts on the need to effect constructive change.

Our play-calling on offense is very average to uninspired.  Our defensive formations--nothing too exciting but perhaps passable.

Our talent--it's difficult to blame guys for not being more talented than they are but I just don't see anyone at all with dynamic, standout play.

The Beefs, BG, kents games--we got thoroughly whupped.

Naming individuals doesn't solve anything.

But there's a lot--A LOT--to be solved.  We are just a bit better than a bottom tier MAC team.

That was not good football out there today.  Unacceptable.  We knorred the fourth quarter today.

Is the very, very average to not-much that I saw today all that we are?  Maybe guys will develop and new guys will come on and 2014 will be different.  It doesn't feel like it now, though.

Ran out of gas, came up short use whatever phrase you want.  I am damn proud of those kids out there and how hard they played.

when the cats took the lead, i thought they just might finish it. the missed field goal hurt and that personal foul call. yikes.

that was a horrible call. but our mental toughness needs to deal with that.

i was proud of the effort.  they didn't lay down and take a beating after getting down 14-0 and could have been beaten by 50. just didn't make enough plays. but overall i thought the cats played well.

i just don't understand some of tt's plays? running out of bounds instead of throwing it away? brain cramp?

defense made a ton of good plays. EC is a pretty good football team folks.

we did not look like we had the same caliber of athletes on the field. at least not the same number.

overall a better effort than i expected considering the November not to remember...

We got burned early, made some adjustments and came up with big stops on defense, and had a chance to win in the 4th quarter, even tho ECU benefited from two questionable penalties -- I've seen a lot worse not get called this season.  Plus, this team didn't throw in the towel when faced with 4th quarter adversity -- T2 was barking at the refs for not throwing a flag when his receivers were being held.  They didn't quit, like we saw vs L'ville, Buffalo, BG and Kent.  They just got overpowered by a better team, and there's nothing wrong with that.  Yes, there are things to work on for next year.  But we saw Vick throw a perfect strike to Donte 40 yds down the field, so there's real hope.  You can criticize play calling and the results of the season.  But the effort was outstanding, especially considering we were shorthanded with Waters and some others out.

Because of the time of the game, I wasn't able to watch it, and only heard a little of it, but from what I heard, this sounds about right. It sounded like the team played hard, and gave it their best shot, but got beat in the end. The team should come away from this knowing how far they have to go, and hopefully the loss will lead to an extra motivation in the off-season workouts so that next year they are the stronger team in Q4.

As far as the strength and conditioning, it can be the coach and the program, or it can be the players. The old saying is that you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. It's the same here. It's my hope that the young players on this team learned a lot this year, a lot about just how far they have to go to get where they want to be. It's quite possible that the easy win over L-Monroe last year gave the players a false sense of confidence. Well, this year the loss to ECU should do the opposite. The players have a good measure of just how much harder they need to work this off-season.

My one question on the strength and conditioning program is why they don't ever issue press releases. I thought it was great when the offensive line had their internal competition going, and issued the data showing just how everyone was doing. I with they'd do the same thing for everyone. Send out a PR at the beginning of conditioning, and then one at the end, showing the improvement.  Tell us who got Super-Iron-Bobcat awards, etc. The guys that earn that deserve the PR - give it to them. Tell us who got faster. Tell us who got stronger. The players that did deserve the commendations, and besides, it just whets our appetite during the winter for the upcoming season.
