Can we end all of the close calls post? Can we stop validating ourselves by beating a team who beats one good opponent? We have to stop with the fake mental victories. We need to believe in our team and stop celebrating playing ECU close, its disgusting.

I don't have any idea what "believe in our team" means in the context of your post. Please enlighten me.

We are better than celebrating close calls especially to East Carolina. It is truly disgusting to celebrate losing to an average team by 17 points. The book of Proverbs says so as a man thinketh so is he. Is that what we are? When do we graduate from that mentality. We schedule games to win not to make a good showing.

I'm not sure what you're referring to. It doesn't seem there has been much celebrating of this bowl game performance, at least not on BA.com. Some, including me, have acknowledged some good individual play, but that's not the same as being satisfied with the overall performance.

Name one person celebrating the loss to E Carolina and I'll listen to your meanderings.

Why is this thread called "next year"? Does this mean we can look forward to reading more posts about how much the team and BAers suck? Wow....can't wait.

I like you, love the Cats, but I am tired of celebrating dare I say small victories. There is a whole thread dedicated to us playing ECU close and even one thanking Marshall for a bowl victory as if that validates us. It does not and we are much better than that. Next year, we can establish a new identity. We can have better expectations. I am only being real. so don't get emotional. This is a just an opinion from an Ohio U fan. If you want to continue saying we almost had them, then go ahead, I will just look past it.

The thread about Marshall has nothing to do with Ohio, and wasn't intended to. That announcement from OCF was nearly as predictable as the sun. (In case you're the last person on earth to know, OCF is a Marshall fan, second only to Ohio.) I don't think he intended the post as some feather in Ohio's cap.

Our OOC schedule is not going to be easy next year with the possible exception of Idaho 1-11.
Eastern  Ill made it to the semi finals in FCS and look to return the majority of that team.  Kentucky replaces only a few players on both sides of the ball.   Marshall is Marshall… They will replace the majority of their defense but frankly their offense is what scares me.

I'm anxious to see our cross over opponents.  I can't help to think we won't be able to dodge the NIU, Toledo bullit again.  I'm guessing we could pick up NIU and WMU this season.   Maybe we lose EMU and CMU….

Rumors are that Miami may be getting some transfers from nearby schools ie.. Notre Dame.   (graduates with 1 year of eligibility remaining)

UK is going to be miles ahead of where they were this past season, but not close to what they will be in a few years. Their recruiting class is scary good for a bottom dwellar in the SEC. I like that Ohio is playing them in 2014 rather than 2015 or 2016.

I am not expecting great things next year, but you never know. I think preseason Ohio will be picked for about 5th in the East, but I think that if they work hard this winter, and keep improving as the year progresses, they have a shot at another bowl.

I'm just hoping next year brings better play calling and utilization of the players we have!

Ohio could win the MAC this year with a quality performance out of the QB position. That is the biggest question mark on the team regardless of past dissatisfaction with T2's performance.

Me, too.  With a better offense I think we would have done much better in the second half of the season.  I was expecting the games with BGSU, Beefs and KSU to be shoot outs not blowouts.  Next year the defense will be better. If Vick can step up as a dual-threat QB, I think we'll be in good shape.  Go OHIO!

They might do better than i think, but only if all the pieces fall in place. In any case, this is the time of yr when they determine what kind of season they will have by how hard they push themselves in winter conditioning. Give me a team full of super iron bobcats and you have a team that wins q4.
