I doubt Irons plays any this fall..if he does he is one of the greatest football recruit Ohio has ever had. Even for the MAC conference a freshman RB that arrives in the fall and you burn his red-shirt as a non-starter thats not very smart or probable. I think they find out if he is ready for American fairly quick though I just don't see him playing soon.

We WILL defeat Kent State, Akron, Miami, Western, Idaho, Eastern Illinois, Central, Marshall and Buffalo. That puts us at 9-3. I think that Vick passes for 2,500, rushes for 500 and some running back, whether Daz, Edmond or Irons rushes for nearly 1,000 yards due to our offensive line. Our defensive line will have 20 or more sacks and our DB's will have 10 or more interceptions. Mark it down. We will be better next year.

Not exactly. Daz graduated from High School early and came in the prior Spring. That makes a huge difference as by the time Fall Camp arrived he knew the offense, and he knew what college life was like.

As for Irons, I think that when he arrives, he will do well, but he won't be ready to start right off the bat. Therefore, as bobcatblitz points out the question becomes do you burn his redshirt to just use him as a backup? Hopefully the answer is no, and the other backs such as Daz, Dorian Brown, Edmond, etc, can play well enough, and stay healthy enough, to protect his redshirt, and Papi White's, too. When Irons does start to play, I'd like to see four full years from him.

Usually backs start out on kick returns as true freshman. Chris Garrett was a model for freshman punt returns. With the amount of speed in the program these days we have OLBs in some cases performing this role.  Also Irons build doesn't lend itself to returns as a big back.

Good luck beating us again.... you have needed 10 turnovers the last 2 games basically to scrape by. Not going to happen again. No doubt we were the better team last year, and will be much better this year. Feeling like a 55-13 type of game to me in Huntington.

awww poor little marshall . They will talk sh*t all year about how they are going to beat ohio but what has happened since the great Cato has taken over? That's right 0-3 . I don't care how good marshall is or thinks they are give ohio some credit we beat y'all three years in a row they can't all be flukes . So ohio will win again , solich will out coach holiday and ohio will out play them. Now go talk sh*t to WVU like y'all all love to do so much

Its your superbowl. No doubt. You play well against us, but we still had a better season and finished at #29. I wouldnt trade our season for 1 game against ohio. Thats the difference in our fans and yours.

No doubt it's wrong. Sorry, but you're not as important as you think you are.

Niemeyer, Scott, Schooler, Sparrow. Some key players you have to replace. You might want to see how their replacements fit in before you bet the farm. Ohio has the same issues, though, it seems the Bobcats will be stronger and faster if not bigger.

I'm not sure how the players approach it, if they consider it their Super Bowl or not. But let's look at how the fans approach the game, maybe that would tell us something.

IN 2013, Marshall was our game with the highest attendance...but it was close. 24,836 fans came to the game, and if Marshall fans are to be believed, they brought every single fan in the house (making it sound like their Super Bowl). That game drew only 300 more fans than the game against North Texas (24,511) and 1,000 more than Central Michigan (23,826).

In 2012, we traveled to Marshall and it sure looks like that was their Super Bowl, as judged by the attendance numbers. That game drew 33,436 fans, more than 6,000 higher than any other game. Their next closest game was Tulsa, which drew 27,189 fans. Our game drew more than 8,000 fans than their home opener. Their average home attendance in the five games other than against OHIO drew 23,182 fans. The OHIO game brought out over 10,000 fans above the average.

In summation, I think it's pretty obvious that the Marshall fans consider the OHIO game as their Super Bowl. Does OHIO feel that way? I'm not so sure.

I love the idea that Marshall, and not MAC championship games, are the most important thing to delusional Herd fans. Because of course they would think that way. Marshall's not important to anyone, so they have to pretend otherwise.

Not true at all. That would be the bowl games we've been in 5 years in a row. Ohio was actually ranked recently I might add, and you've basically lost to Ohio's second and third team players with all the injuries the past 2 years
