“If you don’t get any pulls, from the quarterback standpoint, it’s just going to clog up the middle and I think that’s what we kind of had last year.

“We just couldn’t effectively run the ball the way we wanted to.”

From Derrius Vick in today's Athens Messenger

How did coaching staff allow him to continue to play the way he did.

Deep breaths. Time to let it go. Go Vick!

Wow! Vick is right, I can't believe he was that honest. We spoiled TT and we hurt his progress in the process. He should be the Johny Manziel of this draft. This year I hope Vick brings it.

Considering that our former director of football operations often used the hashtag "#housethatTeTbuilt" when tweeting about the IPF, I'd say our coaches were under Tyler's sway a bit more than was appropriate.

Personally, I would have sat him down after the petulant response to having to return for the closing plays of one of our early wins at Peden. If you recall, he was handing off the ball without moving his feet, in a clear attempt to embarrass the coaches.  I'd have buried his ass on the bench…or perhaps told my center to let a D lineman come through unblocked on the next play.

They allowed him to believe that he is the reason that facilities were being built. They are at fault, they can't let that happen again.

He along with 50 others and the coaching staff. Shouldn't we get credit as well, we were his only offer. We tried our best to showcase his talent. What about the players that came before him. He could have went down as a top ten Bobcat. I wish him well in the future. That indoor facility is the house that the Bobcats built.

It's actually the house that Bob Walter built. Without a $10 million gift, we'd have like $2 million raised to build a pole barn. Walter probably would have given regardless of team success...so I'd say Tett (and the team) probably had little to do with it anyway.

I agree with this. Unless his father actually paid for it, I'd have to say that you can't credit it to any one player. The Bobcats have been increasingly successful over the years, and there are many players and coaches that have played a part in that. How about the 2006 Seniors that established the winning trend? How about the 2005 recruits that as 5th year Seniors began the bowl streak in 2009? How about the various Ohio players that established that, yes, the NFL will draft players from Ohio, players like Cohen, Mitchell, Price, Brazill, and Herman? How about the coaching staff that was behind the revival of Ohio football? How about guys like Evan Shaw that created "Relentless", and gave great PR to Ohio?

There are too many others also responsible for the success of Ohio to credit the MPF to a single player.

TRUTH!!!!!  Without Mr. Walter's financial contribution, there's no field house or even a sniff of a fieldhouse. He's the one to thank (and perhaps Ohio's fundraising people whom I'm sure kept at it).

Yeah, I can probably name a few:

Byrum, Wright, Cohen, Muncy, Koenig, Everson, McRae, Mayle, Fitzgerald, Hartke, Owens, Brazill, McCrae, Scott, Jackson, Keller, Renfro, Parson, Mitchell, Harden, Garrett, Abrams, etc.

TT could have been great, but yes... so many SMH moments.  By the end, you could tell his mind was elsewhere.  Somebody should make a video of all the times he would run out of bounds taking a 5 yard loss, rather than throwing it away.  Loved his fight and toughness when he was 'there'.

I'll tell ya where we'll go. Someplace warm. A place where the beer flows like wine. Where beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano. I'm talkin' bout a little place called... ATHENS.
