I didn't see any info on the first Spring Scrimmage at all. Scanning Twitter last night it appears Nick Gibbons broke his leg adding to the offensive line depth woes. Hoping for a speedy recovery for the young Bobcat.

Hospital food must be different there than it is here.

Probably safer to eat McDonalds rather than food from "O'what-a-bloody-mess"
(A nickname for O'Bleness that I got from one of my undergrad professors who also taught for the medical school)

Reminds me of when my wife delivered Money Jr.. It was about 8:30 p.m. when he arrived....too late for the hospital to provide her dinner. She hadn't had breakfast or lunch (b/c she was in labor), so it had been more than 24 hours since she'd eaten. McDonald's was the closest thing to the hospital, and she really wanted some fries.

Not being sure whether there were any food restrictions on a mother who had an hour before delivered, I ask the nurse, "She's hungry. What is she allowed to eat?"

"ANYTHING she wants."

"So, ummmm, McDonald's is OK?"

"Oh, yeah, McDonald's is fine."

"Ummmm....even though this is a hospital?"

"Yep, she can have whatever she wants."

Later, one of the nurses (who my wife knew) explained that they're much more concerned about new moms wanting to go outside to smoke a cigarette (or worse) than wanting fast food.

Also mentioned with 1.5 sacks was Cody Grillot. Who is he? He was a preferred walkon last year who played safety for Clayton Northmont where he was a teammate of Troy Mangen. He is playing LB at Ohio. He's 6-0, 214 so he has enough size for OLB. He will be a redshirt Freshman this fall.

He, Grilliot, received mention for three tackles in a scrimmage from fall 2013.

Do they have one now?  That was one of the things I thought would benefit the program when I first started posting here back in 2005. It would help other sports, like Basketball, at least as much.

I found this info regarding the training table at Boyd Dining Hall, so apparently, yes, there is one, at least Monday through Friday.

Per Arkeley's article, it's worse than that. He has a broken bone in his lower leg and a dislocated ankle. He may or may not be available by fall. Dislocations can take awhile to heal.

The good and the bad and the ugly are obvious from this scrimmage.  In fact the bad and the ugly can both center around OL Gibbons.  Losing a 320 pound OL who could have started for the entire season really sucks.  The bad was the loss and the ugly was his injury.

But lets not dwell on the negative brothers and sisters...plenty of positive to report.  Vick and TD passes sounds great.  Wilson at WR coupled with Cochran give us 2 of the best receivers in the MAC.....would be nice for a few more to step up.  The defense has the usual suspects like Basham and Kristoff.....but thank good ness we have some depth it seems at OLB.  Atwell and Grady both gone....Cody Grilliot is a safety playin OLB but what the heck.....a 220 pounder who can rush the passer and defend the pass....nice Hudl vid:

Brendan Cope had a TD from Vick. Brennan Boland had one from Dylan Leffingwell

Just read Cope's bio. Seems he might be like Waters in some respects. High football IQ.

Per Arkley's Tweets, second scrimmage was generally won by the defense, and the offense had no TDs, but there were good catches by Cope and Cam Wilson. Vick and Sprague are ahead of Windham/Leffingwell at QB. Scipio had a pick, playing safety. Also, there is generally more "pop" and "vigour" this year than the last few Springs.

Tell me you didn't name your son Ronald.

LOL. No. I did lobby (unsuccessfully) for "Rufus Putnam," though.

Uggh. Good luck to him on his recovery.

First Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay break up and now this. What's next? Are you going to tell me that Chevy going to stop selling the Cruze?
