Not doing donuts in 1985 Ford Ranger but playing indoor with the Omaha Beef ..leading tackler after 2 games. Former Ohio player James Davis also plays.

Interesting. Their new head coach, Dan Thurin, is also the Linebackers coach for Division III Nebraska Wesleyn in Lincoln, plus he works for an Omaha t-Shirt company called the Graphics Edge. Is that pretty normal in indoor football?

As a former Indoor Football League Asst. General Manager I can tell you that isn't out of the ordinary. Basically nothing is out of the ordinary.

Unless its the major Arena Football League, these leagues basically are part-time jobs for the players and mostly everyone else involved.

As I recall, the original Green Bay Packers players actually worked at a meat packing company during the week.

And I remember that Pirates third baseman Richie Hebner used to work as a grave digger in the off-season, even in the early '70s.  That was before Dick Allen changed everything.
