Author Message Pataskala General User Member Since: 7/8/2010 Location: At least six feet away from anybody else Post Count: 9,363 Status: Offline     Shortage of bowl-eligible teams?    Posted: 4/27/2014 11:12:30 AM  Dodd brings up the issue of whether there will be enough bowl-eligible teams to fill all the slots this season.  Not only are there more bowls, the increase in the number of 1A schools could be more than offset by the number of teams hit with sanctions for APR issues.  Dings for UNLV and Idaho don't cause a problem but at least three more schools will be hit in the next month or so.  We will get by. Without looking it up, I'd guess there will be 10-15 schools with a 5-7 record, and I wouldn't expect for than one, maybe two, to get a bowl bid, so it will take a very good APR to win that tiebreaker.
