I think Landon deserves his own thread since he will probably dress and play in the Super Bowl this Sunday. Great example of hard work and perseverance!

Here is a link to some new articles and the company he started with two childhood friends.

"Cohen has learned to keep his emotions grounded. This is what happens when you get drafted out of Ohio (University not State)"

Great story, but they just couldn't avoid throwing in that jab.

Anybody know what his major was at OHIO. I assume it wasn't Parking Lot Science. ;-) That sounds more like a major at Olentangy Tech.

His LinkedIn profile says public relations and specialized studies: https://www.linkedin.com/pub/landon-cohen/67/771/196

They don't come to play school at A&M.

Reminds me of when OSU's Katsenmoyer needed to take summer school courses to remain eligible. Later it was learned and revealed that his three courses were Aids Awareness, Music Appreciation and Golf.

I was actually reminded of exactly the same thing. It was so bad that even WTVN radio afternoon talk-jocks were making fun of how stupid he was. They would give each other exam questions from the AIDS Awareness class. They were just stupid questions that a first grader would know the answer to. Can't remember any examples right now, but it was funny at the time.

I took Golf as an elective my sophomore year. My instructor....Kermit Blosser. Hardly a "cake" course.

It is all relative, isn't it? I signed up for "Electronic Music" in the '70's thinking I would get a steady diet of ELP and Rick Wakeman to "critique. What a mistake. Nearly took me down.

Will he be the first OHIO player ever to appear in a Super Bowl? I can't think of any others. Am I forgetting someone?

You could make a case that golf should be a required course as I have conducted a lot of business on the golf course over the years.

I volunteered in the Ohio University Sports Information office and was in charge of the golf media guide, press releases and photo shoots for two years. Words can't express was a kind person and gentleman that Kermit Blosser was. I still have a thank you letter that he sent to me in 1985.

After my last final winter quarter of 1986, I stayed a couple of extra days to finish up the pre-season information for the golf team. My last task as a student was to organize the photo shoot for the 1986 golf team. Harry Snavely took all of the individual and team photos and asked Kermit if that was it. Kermit said no we have one more photo we need to take which surprised me because I had a checklist with me. Kermit walked over wearing his Ohio University golf blazer and put his arm around me and posed for one last picture before I got in my car to leave Athens for the last time as a student.

I drove up from Richmond to meet my Dad for Frank Solich’s first spring game and we spent nearly a half hour visiting with Kermit. My father was in junior high school when Kermit coached basketball at Columbus South and they enjoyed exchanging stories about some of their common friends / students.

When Kermit died, I watched the video tribute and would you believe, the picture of the two of us was part of the tribute. I saw the hardcopy of the picture a couple of years ago here at the house but not sure where my wife put it or I would post the picture here.

Here is a link about Kermit for those of you who are Students or recent Grads and may not know much about Kermit:

Channel 10 ran Landon's greeting during their pre-sunrise news yesterday. Someone behind the scenes must be an Ohio grad because none of their morning on-air people are. Or maybe they liked the valet parking-to-Super Bowl lineman story.

Just on the road home from the store tonight when the local K-love/Christian station ran a two minute or so segment outlining Landon's long journey to the super bowl...from 7 teams in 8 years to his valet service and signing with Seattle. Talked about the work he has put in. HOPE you get in and make a play or two. CONGRATS to whoever wins, Landon you are a winner for sure!

Stand Up and Cheer!

Casper 71, not trying to be cute, but seriously do you know how many stars he had when he was recruited? I'm actually curious.

L.C., thanks for that info on Cohen for OCF and me. Looks like he was a 2 star guy. OCF wasn't trying to be cute but he wants me to say that all we should recruit is 2 star and under the radar guys 'cause one is now on a Super bowl roster. I'd still rather have 20-3 star recruits every year...Sorry for bringing the subject up again but OCF made me do it:)

Are you saying the pass on their final play was a good call?
