Signing day is long gone, the basketball season is in the toilet, and even though the spring game is a little hit of methadone football is still almost six months away.

In the meantime, we need something on this board to lift our spirits. So how about a weekly poll/tournament/feature/whatever?

Ideas:
1. "All-time favorite Bobcat team". We go position by position, nominate our favorite (not necessarily who we think is the best, but our favorite) players.
2. "Greatest performance in program history tournament". We go back, oh, 50 years or so, nominate individual performances, and vote tournament-style until only one is left.
3. "Best bar in the history of Athens tournament". Not football related, but whatever. Nominate your favorite bar. Doesn't matter when it was open, just that it was awesome. We vote tournament-style.
4. "Greatest football movie ever tournament". Someone had this idea in a thread a while back. I liked it.

Thoughts (other than, "Shut up, C Money, the offseason is when I spend time with my family and pay attention to my job.")?

I like the favorite Bobcat player idea. Maybe we could construct an All-time All OHIO team. My first few picks, WR: Todd Snyder (split end), and LaVon Brazill; QB: Cleve Bryant; FB: Bob Houmard; DB: Tom Widdoes, Noah Keller. That's just a few off the top of my head. These are just some of my favorites. They may or may not be the best ever at their positions. Now, how about other folks' favorites.

I created "Bcat++" for this very purpose. He/She/It would have provided plenty of offseason hilarity. But the BobcatAttack oligarchs deleted the account and blocked my IP address like I was some kind of Viagra spammer.

Favorite Bobcats....

Defense: Patrick Tafua: Dude could hit. And hung out in the Ozone for basketball games.

Offense: Kareem Wilson and Kalvin McRae. Wilson was crazy fun to watch in Grobe's offense. And McRae just got you tough yards over and over.

Can somebody hit a pull up jumper for me?.....

So, if you read Bcat++ posts for more than four hours you should consult a physician??

#3 - GENIOUS!! I nominate the CI, function at the Junction, the Nickelodeon and especially the Mug & Margarita as contenders! Lucky's is outstanding too.

This thread is drifting, but I'd support a return of bcat++ now that we know who he really is. Are you also the man behind the curtain of the FakeJeffMcKinney show? Inquiring minds want to know.

Right place. Seems your memory of this place is a little fuzzy as well.

This thread caused me to spend about 15 minutes last night googling "Riz Buckman" with limited success. That's 15 minutes I could have spent with my wife and young son!

That said, I was also thinking about corners and if I had to pick two corners from the modern era who I would pick. Some names...

Bop White
Donnie White
Tevell Jones
Mark Stubbs
Dion Byrum
TJ Wright
Mark Parson
Jooney Posey
Travis Carrie
Ian Wells

Lots of great ones there! One thing I didn't realize is that Bop White picked off 17 passes. That is a lot!

Boy...this is hard! Ok, I'll pick Byrum and Carrie. I sorta remember Tevell Jones being great, but I was just too young and that was ages ago. I was tempted to pick Wells, because he's been such a lock-down corner and he's got a mean streak.

Two guys that I really like from recent years are Jordan Thompson and Travis Carrie. Both were great players, and great leaders. Both had severe injuries, but continued to be leaders.

Agreed on both. I should have included Byrum on my original list. Some folks talk about the immaculate reception, I best remember the immaculate interception. ;-)

I think Dennis Ftzgerald's name should be submitted for consideration.

But he was a safety ytown!

Safety is equally difficult. Mitchell, Gerald Moore, Donovan Fletcher, Dennis Fitzgerald, Chris London, Chip Cox, Todd Koenig, Steven Jackson, Tafua

How about just picking an All-Frank team? Best collection of players since Frank has been in Athens.
