I should have about 15 sets season tickets except for Marshall.

Would any of you all be interested in picking these up off my hands for like 10 bucks per season ticket?

I'd be interested in the Miami @ OHIO tickets for October 10th.

I would also be interested in 5 tickets to the Miami game if you have them. I sent you a private message.

OT but I just saw the 110's schedule ad it has the home game on 10/17 v WMU listed as Band Day. Good news for us as that puts a lot of butts in seats on the last Saturday home game, keep that in mind if you're considering attending.

Although everyone else had a pretty easy go of comprehending it, I'll try to make it easier for you.

I am buying 15 sets of season tickets, I want tickets to the MU game and it's cheaper to buy season tickets than it is to buy the reserved tickets.

Are you with me so far?

Okay so now I have 15 sets of OU season tickets, MINUS the Marshall game available. Seeing as I don't want these because I'm not interested in OU football nor will I drive to Athens with 14 people every Tuesday for a football game, I want to sell these.

Since I'm already saving money on the Marshall game tickets, I don't care to dump these off for cheap.

Any questions?

So you're saying that season ticket is cheaper than a single game ticket? Didn't know that.

15 sets? How many total tickets is that?

Here's the math. Buy 4 family packs (16 seats) at $119 each for $476. If you have 16 people going to just the Marshall game, that's $640 (16 seats at $40). you save $164 and we get to count 16 people at every game for attendance purposes.

So if we see another post from the AD that we broke another record for season ticket sales, it will be because Marshall fans bought a ton of them, only to turn around and sell the tickets they aren't using. I don't know whether to be proud of that or disappointed.

Unless half of the participants are kids, is that sort of cheating on family pacts?

I always wondered about that. I guess I figured the family pack tickets were clearly marked, as for example, a single ticket that lets four people in, and that the ticket checker made sure the group included 2 children.

I've done the family pack for 5 years now, I think. The first two years they sent me 4 adult tickets instead of 2 adult and 2 youth. Since then, when I have given my youth tickets to people to see if they can get in, it's probably 50-50 on whether the ticket taker checks.

Scroll down to Family Packs. The tickets are no longer adult/kid specific.

Well that proves that they're still pretty much giving away tickets to improve attendance numbers regardless of price.

My family has had the family pack for years and we've never had an issue having an adult use a child's ticket.

Look at it this way-at least Ohio's getting takers for the tickets. They can't even give the tickets away in Akron.

Pretty much. Do away with family packs and attendance dips by 1/3. That said, perhaps if people keep coming and having a good time and the game is entertaining, they'll 1) bring friends or 2) contribute money and buy things.

They aren't doing anything that any other G5 school isn't doing, or couldn't do, so the numbers aren't any more inflated that anyone else. Filling the seats makes for a better atmosphere for everyone, and as Alan pointed out, they may well buy stuff at the game and/or bring friends.

What Ohio has been doing is working. They have the best attendance in the MAC, year after year, and the zipcode map we saw shows that support for the Bobcats is creeping north and west. Also, getting back to the higher prices this year for individual tickets, that shows that they are selling a lot of season tickets, and have relatively few tickets left to sell for individual games.

I have no problem with selling tickets cheap to improve attendance, just don't carry on the charade of calling them family packs.

I have an extra season ticket up for grabs as well. $30 (includes the Marshall game).

3. Upgrade to better seats in the future.

The family pack probably doesn't contribute a ton of immediate revenue, but some is better than none... I think the real goal is using it to help grow the PROGRAM. Think long-term. I don't understand why some on this board think providing an affordable option is a bad thing... It isn't like people aren't still buying the more pricey seats... And you get fans in cheap then sell them on the pricey stuff when they are hooked... Seems pretty straight-forward.

Just as single game tickets are rising, so are the family packs, and I expect that if the Ohio program continues to move forward, the family packs will keep creeping higher. I believe the family packs started at $79, and now they are $119. That's still a great bargain, though. Bought as individual tickets, the full value would be:

Marshall $40*4
Southeastern Louisiana $30*4
Miami $35*4
WMU $20*4
Kent $15*4
Ball $15*4
Total value=$620, so $119 is a 81% discount
