For those of you who follow social media like Twitter and Instagram, I've seen more videos on long snapping than anything else. It's cool to see these guys do their thing, but c'mon. Can we see some football action from football players? I want to see some hitting, running, tackling, and catching. Spare me the long snaps off the top of the stadium. I appreciate the position, but good Lord, how do these tricks help in a game?

The long snaps that impressed me the most were the perfect spirals, dead on target, to the punters and placekick-holders. Those will pay off in games with no blocks, better punts, and more accuracy on field goals. The snaps off the stadium roof were fun, but meaningless. The two things I did take away from the clips was that Jake Hale seems to have won the job as a true Freshman, and that he seems to have the complete confidence of both the placekickers (Zervos, Yazdani) and the punters (Bonnstetter, Farakas).

With a scrimmage tomorrow, and another one next week, it won't be long before we see some real action, though.

Keep us posted on the Special Teams - particularly Kickers and Punters.

Maybe this should be in the Fall Camp thread...? I'll double post.

Yes, I agree. This kid is the real deal. He has won the job as a true freshman. Good for him. Hope we have zero bad snaps, etc. So now, enough with the self promotion and let's get on with some football and see some hitting, tackling, catching, running and throwing. Geez, the most boring thing in football is the non-football type stuff. Holy crap, long snapping. Whoa. I guess I am an old timer, huh ? Well then, so be it. Let's get some pads a crackin, boys. This other stuff is semi-weird.

Well, you know, athletes have always been up to things off the field. Wierd? Maybe, but still, it's nothing but good, clean fun, and far better than for them to be out getting into trouble.
