I'd guess Solich kind of expected it. He was quick to give AJ a scholarship, but even more telling is that when numbers were handed out, rather than giving AJ one of the numbers he requested, Solich insisted that AJ be given Solich's old number. I don't know if that is common, but this is the first time I've ever heard of that happening. That seems like the ultimate compliment to me. Solich saw something special in AJ. I believe there are a few other incoming players he is equally high on this year. Time will tell if he's right, but I think he's a very good judge of football talent, ability and skills -- more so than most of us on BA. He'll probably play with those other backs too, as Ohio has historically has used some two-back sets to keep defenses guessing. Patterson, in particular, compliments Ouellette well due to his speed."
