There is a very interesting article in today's Dispatch about selling tickets to osu games and some of the things that are being considered.

I remember watching an A&M home game last year and noticing a significant amount of empty seats in the north end of the upper deck last year. I chuckled then turned the channel!

To me the lesson is that even for A&M, there is a point at which fans start having resistance to price. I have to wonder how many people take their kids to the game? If no kids go, where will the next generation of fans come from?

It isn't just in Buckeye land that this is happening, however. I read recently that other schools with long sellout streaks are quietly reducing the number of seats in their stadiums rather than what they have done for years, which is to try to find ways to squeeze in extra seats.

Love the family pack. Affordability for families with kids. Hook them while they are young.

That isn't to say some won't be OSU fans, but it certainly won't hurt our cause. Think long-term.

I've seen crazier things happen.

I love the family pack. It's been successful in getting me, and more of my friends and family to more Ohio Football games. I used to go to homecoming, and maybe one other game. I bought this, and at least come to all the weekend home games. When I can't go, I give away tickets I can't use. I think it's a great idea, though I truly do think they should consider bumping it up a little more, even if it's just $10 per seat. That's a lot of revenue left on the table that I think many people would pay.

Empty seats don't matter. Just ask the NBA.....

I don't think A&M has much to worry about. From what I've seen in central Ohio, being an A&M fan is passed along from generation to generation, like some mutant gene. My son used to get an awful lot of flack from his classmates for wearing Bobcat gear to school, even from kids who had never been to an O$U game. Give 'em a t-shirt from Walmart and a ton of media hype and they follow the crowd.
