3.6 yards per carry average before the injury does not represent a terrific burst of speed. He's more of a steady, grind it out, type RB. And you need those too.

That's probably because it's not a measure of speed at all. his numbers were hurt by some tough sledding against Nebraska with brand new O-line.

His yards per was 3.7 vs Jax State with a larger sample size. 18 totes.

They say his 40 time off the field is amazing. He just doesn't look like a breakaway threat to take it a long way on the field. Mediocre run blocking? Maybe. Good O-line guys are always in high demand in the portal.

Brune runs a 4.4 - he ran a 4.4 with OU, he ran a 4.47 at Vanderbilt summer camp back in 2023.

At media day this year, he told Rob Cornelius he ran a 4.35

4.3 seems like a stretch, but hes been clocked at 4.4 by numerous different camps, teams, in multiple different years. He's got wheels. He's not out running in space. He's grinding between the tackles. Whether the line can give him space is a different story.

Rosa is a high school track star. He literally won state in the 200 meter dash and finished second in the 100. He has clocked a 4.4 on multiple documented occasions.

Also, I'm a HUGE IB guy. Taylor too. Certainly running in pads is different than an all-out sprint, but lets not act like Brune and Rosa are some clunky statues.

I knew Brune had straight away speed. We certainly need him. Any comments about IB from me are referring to his lateral quickness - side-to-side transition, change of direction and force absorption and reapplication.

I hope to see IB get some playing time against Kant.

For some reason Rosa had a couple of good years at UConn and then a couple of "meh" ones at best. Injury related? Got recruited over? I'm not enough of a UConn fan to know the details.

UCONN had 3 RBs the last 3 years. All transferred out this year. Rosa was the lead guy for two years. He got passed over by Cam Edwards (now at Michigan State) and Mel Brown (now at Colorado State). Edwards had over 1,200 yards last year.
