This was the risk by moving to Charlotte. The patience is not there like it is in the MAC.

Charlotte went 1-11 last year with a one-score win against Monmouth - and got drilled by both instate rivals. And now lose to an FCS Citadel. Equivalence would be Bobcats going 1-12 including getting drilled by Miami and say Akron. and then losing at home to Youngstown State. 49er fans are actually very patient (or more so apathetic), but he's digging deeper and deeper. Albin has App St. in two weeks (ole miss next week so...) and ECU in November. Probably needs to win one. If App State rolls them in Boone he may not recover.

Next year is the year of Coach Albin's fait. Took over a horrible football team/program. Has resources and money to spend! Roster turnover is a given however for a G6 program I believe you need core program guys in the system that stay an extra year etc. before hitting the portal. Albin is trying to build that. Honestly I hope it works for him! His departure was an epic failure! And his actions after the championship game on the way home are inexcusable however he was great for OU! Left us in good hands and built on and improved the Solich Program. People don�t leave jobs. They leave bosses! I am sure it was absolutely the hardest and emotional decision he ever made, thus the botched exit! Sure he could have and perhaps should have waited it out but unless you have lived it you don�t understand. It doesn�t change the fact that he is a good man. Wishing him success and for those still feeling burned/betrayed by him a hope that someday you will get over your hurt!

LB Kadin Schmitz with 7 tackles and LB Stellan Bowman with 4 for UNCC yesterday. Schmitz was 2nd on the team in tackles last year with 66 while LB Taylor Shay was third with 64. Any other former Bobcats playing for Charlotte this year?

I imagine these former Bobcats and current Niners are making more $ since transferring, but doesn't team success mean something? While Ohio went 9-4 last year, UNCC went 1-11.

It should be mentioned that Biff Poggi got fired after a 6-16 start so if Albin only wins one or two games this year, the leash is only two years short.

They actually did get a jump in money for NIL going into last year. But it seems the money isn't why he left. The fact that we kept most of the assistants tells you that there isn't a huge gap in pay, and while he is making more that in was in 2024, he was making only marginally more than Smith was last year and apparently less than what we ultimately offered after he had verballed to UNCC. This apparently only rubbed more salt in the wound between he and Julie Cromer, which according to the people that claim to know him well, was almost all of the reason why he chose to leave. It is a shame. He might have continued to do well here but it is going to be hard to save his job from where the 'Niners are right now.

That timeline is quickly slipping out of his hands. If they get hammered at App in two weeks the general thought is things will likely spiral. A repeat of one win... or even two is not what he can afford. Winless and he has no control.

Two games to circle. App St in two weeks and ECU in November. If they get rolled by in-state rivals and can't get a couple of wins he's looking at the abyss .... they close at Tulsa and home with Navy.

Yes, he took over a horrible program. But it at least had some juice. He's lost that. Nice guy I'm sure. Don't care. Biff was unique and fun. That provided no cover.

And oh by the way - the biggest challenge he has... the current (new) AD did not hire him.
