The question has to be asked.

I somehow didn’t even see the result of that game until reading your post and holy crap. Yeah, gotta imagine Franklin’s days are numbered. Hope they have pet insurance.

$56 mil buyout currently.

Fickell has a $25.4 mil buyout.

How can an athletic dept, even one with a huge budget, just make that kind of money happen...AND go and pay a new coach similar money?

He's gonna have another job by the end of the month if he wants it too. Virginia Tech and/or Arkansas could get him with that first offer shimmer and shine.

Though for the cost of $50M he could just sit back, take a 4 month vacation and see when Florida fires Billy Napier.

The buyout isn't paid in a lump sum and they're getting $50M/year in broadcast money. I think they know they'll be ok.

He hasn't exactly set the world on fire, but I agree. Rhule is the logical, and easy choice.

If Cig says no.

That would be a huge coup for them if so. Franklin may not be the best big game coach, but he can recruit and build a program from the depths. He also recruits the hell out of Maryland/Virginia, which the Hokies have been getting killed at for a while now.

If he does coach again Franklin needs to bring in a top offensive mind and let the person do their thing. The pass play designs seldom got anyone open. It only clicked when a near perfect pass was thrown not wide open guys in well constructed schemes like seen from different programs. Drew Allar should have skipped town a season ago.

Got that right. Not coincidental that his best season was with Moorhead at OC.

Just as he went to three straight bowls at Vandy (had never been done) with John Donovan as offensive coordinator and running backs coach. Who is on your staff really does matter.
