These are probably pretty meaningless but at least they are something to talk about. That probably is really the point anyway.

Ohio so far has:
Maxwell (best player): Parker Navarro
Thorpe (best DB): DJ Walker, Tank Pearson

Ohio had no players on the Outland (interior lineman), Nagurski (best defensive player), Butkus (linebacker), Hornung (most versatile), Weuffell (community service and academics), Guy (punter), and Groza (kicker) lists

Until we ever truly have a Roethlisberger-like talent, these things mean very little.

If he or Szczerbiak were playing sports in this era, they would have been out of Oxford and playing in the SEC or Big Ten or ACC faster than you can say "screw fiami."

Sure there's basically no chance of actually winning one of these awards but it's still an honor to be mentioned. I mean for Parker to be one of the 45 players recognized is something.
