First of all this is pure speculation, but reading about how Cleveland St and many other universities are dropping their baseball program, I got to thinking….
With the timing of Carbone stepping down, and the universities know budgetary deficit is there a chance we are cutting baseball in the next few years? The fact that Carbone ran the program into the ground and we have had little success in the last 15 years doesn’t help our case.
I don’t see college baseball surviving many places other than the SEC, ACC and maybe Pac 12. It’s only a matter of time. Maybe sooner than later?
