Ohio blows out UC Clermont by 69 points

Bobcats go on multiple double-digit runs


ATHENS – UC Clermont was no match for Ohio, which ran away with a 113-44 victory Wednesday night at the Convo.

All 13 available players saw action and scored for the Bobcats, with the starters playing just 10-17 minutes each. AJ Brown led the way with 18 points, Elmore James scored 16 points, and AJ Clayton finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Ohio (4-3) led 62-17 at halftime and outscored the Cougars 51-27 in the second half.

The Bobcats shot 62.5% in the game and could have put more points on the board if they had made more free throws. They were 14 of 24 (58.3%) at the foul line.

Ohio wins Bobcat Battle title with win over Alabama State

Clayton has double-double, Brown scores 18


ATHENS – Ohio won the Bobcat Battle championship by beating Alabama State 72-58 on Sunday afternoon at The Convo.

Miles Brown scored 18 points, and with Dwight Wilson sitting out, AJ Clayton had his first career double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Bobcats (3-3). Ben Roderick came off the bench to score 11 points.

Ohio shot 48.6% in the first half to build a 45-27 lead and then held off the Hornets (1-7). Alabama State won its first game of the year a day earlier by beating Eastern Illinois 67-58 at The Convo.

Bench provides spark in Bobcats' victory

Ohio runs away from Eastern Illinois in 2nd half


ATHENS – Ohio had strong games from Ben Roderick and Aidan Hadaway off the bench and pulled away in the second half for a 78-67 victory against Eastern Illinois on Friday at The Convo.

Roderick scored 15 points in 21 minutes, with Hadaway adding 11 points in 14 minutes. Starters Miles Brown (14 points) and Dwight Wilson (10 points) also scored in double figures for the Bobcats (2-3).

The Panthers (1-5) led early in the second half 43-40 on a Yaakema Rose 3-pointer and tied the game at 45 on a Rose basket in the paint, before the Bobcats began to take over.

Harris steps up in Ohio's 38-14 victory


ATHENS – Once CJ Harris and Ohio got going, they could not be stopped on their way to Detroit.

With starting quarterback Kurtis Rourke sidelined for the season by a knee injury, Harris did his part in leading the Bobcats to a 38-14 blowout of Bowling Green on Tuesday night at Frank Solich Field at Peden Stadium to clinch a spot in the Mid-American Conference championship game.

Bowling Green scored the only points of the first quarter, but it was all Ohio after that. Harris was 10-of-21 passing for 196 yards and a touchdown and added 12 rushes for 65 yards and three scores in his first career start, helping the Bobcats to their fifth MAC championship game since 2006 and their first since 2016.
