Nothing better than a big man interception. Nobody was taking that ball from him.

Good thing the refs didn't see what looked like an early hit on the INT. But we'll take it. On to BG.

The guys on ESNU made a big deal about ISU's last missed FG, that it was nonreviewable because the ball went over the upright. But even if it had been good, Ohio was well within FG range after the INT, So it probably didn't change the outcome. Ohio stil would likely have won by three GREAT WIN. Our D is for real. Great to see that the crowd hung around for the second half and was in the game on ISU's last possession.

I was doing some back of the napkin math on the clock for those last three plays. It was really close whether we’d have to punt that. They played it well.

Our defense is FOR REAL! Wow, what a dominant performance. What an awesome team W! We were clearly the better team on both sides of the ball. Defense made plays and our offense once again knows how to dominate time of possession.

Iowa State made some foolish errors on 4th down that stunned me. Special teams was better today too despite the missed kick.

Kurtis did a nice job limiting mistakes and scrambling. Made some nice throws. Felt a bit off at times. Looking forward to seeing him in MAC play.

I expected to win this game and we did. Albin has a great culture built and this team seems laser focused. In Kurtis and Bryce we trust!

What a day at the Convo.....Wow!

Agree I didn't like the play calling on the 4:30 drive - but it worked so can't be upset. I'll take being a gutless 3-1 - on to conference play. Really nice win.

At least since Penn St. Probably the biggest home win since Pitt. We were favored against Kansas, so that wasn't such a biggie.

Fewewst points scored by Ohio in a win since beating Akron 9-3 in 2016.

At least the offense didn't beat itself with turnovers today, and they were playing one of the better Ds in the country. Should rack up more offense vs BG next week.

Anyone who says that field goal miss or make called wrong--it would have changed our gameplan also and we most likely would not have been in prevent on the TD. That officiating crew was solid. It takes nothing from our win!

I thought it was no good. It went right over the pole. If the pole extended up it would have doinked. By rule that's no good, right?

I dunno. The TV view looked good to me. But maybe the camera angles were misleading.

It was good.

Everyone in the far endzone was confused. It didn’t even debatable.

Great win. Great defense. Gutless football. For the third straight week.

This is not the team of last year. This is not the playbook of last year. Last years team doesn’t run the ball 25 of the last 30 plays in a one score game.

The Yahoo story on the game mentioned that the camera angles could be deceiving. It also mentioned that the NCAA rule is obscure; it just says that the ball must go between the uprights as it crosses the in line and that the uprights are a line, not a plane. That apparently means that the uprights extend upwards to infinity (and beyond?). But it doesn't say whether all or only part of the ball has to go between the uprights. That makes it purely a judgement call on the part of the refs. The NCAA needs to put a laser or something at the top of uprights, with a light that goes on if the ball crosses the laser.

TV angles are two-dimensional, and on a ball moving from right to left across the screen, you can't tell it's position to a fixed pole that doesn't extend as high as where the ball flies. There is only one perfect view, and that's directly under the pole. I'll take the word of the ref under the post.

I was browsing the Iowa State boards, and they were incredibly negative for the entire game, mostly focused on "Fire Campbell". They had little positive to say about Ohio, calling Peden a high school stadium, and calling Ohio the team with the worst turnover ratio in CFB, and a "mid-level MAC team". They had no idea why ISU couldn't run the ball, but were very sure it had nothing to do with Ohio's defense. They blamed it on some combination of play-calling, a bad offensive line, or just generally a bad offense.

In the second half, they accepted that ISU couldn't run the ball, and wondered why they kept trying. They repeatedly called ISU's playcalling "gutless", but did praise Ohio for their playcalling, saying that Ohio was doing a good job of mixing runs and passes, and RPOs, as well as moving the pocket around, and said that Ohio's offensive scheme was way better than theirs. A couple congratulated Ohio on the win, but most were too busy predicting that, if ISU can't even beat Ohio, they won't win another game.

Congratulations, Ohio, on a great, hard fought win. I always love seeing a great defensive effort, and I definitely saw one today (even if ISU fans didn't notice).

The only thing that was gutless was the third down play call on our drive right before Iowa State's touchdown. And I only say that in the hindsight of ISU scoring. With the way our defense was playing, we trust that they can do it again, so at the time, a run on that third down that we don't convert didn't seem like a big deal. As for the knees to end the game, we did the math and we had a plan to run out the clock and it completely worked as intended. No complaints at all.

The camera angle under the goal posts is deceiving. It appears that the ball was inside the post, but the flag was also lying inside the post. Wouldn't the ball have grazed the flag? Considering also that the camera angle is from behind the center of the whole goal post structure, it's clear to me that the ball passed directly over top the post. That one referee is the only person in the building that can make the judgment call.
