Well, with that catch, Coleman Owen is now the all-time single season receiving record holder for OHIO. Congrats on the record! He passes Lavon Brazill on the all-time list.

Owen has to be a bit mad Bill Belichick is no longer in the NFL. He seemed destined to be a Patriots slot receiver if he had just been born 12 years earlier.

Congrats! Great accomplishment. I suspect, though I'm too lazy right now to look it up, that Todd Snyder still has more receiving yards per game than any Bobcat in history. Remember only 10 regular season games back in those days.

The slot receiver spot has been a huge performer in the offense the last two years. Does Hendricks move inside next season?

Max Rodarte looks to be a decent slot receiver.

Then always the portal.

Unlikely.

Because if you look at it in this goofy ass way, it’s probably someone like Hooks who had like 12 catches for 600 yards in his career.

You would be wrong about the leader, and perhaps wrong about which year was Snyder's best year, which was not 1968. Here are the season leaders for yards/game:

2024 Owen 1245 yards, 13 games played, 95.8 yds/game
1969 Snyder 835 yards, 10 games played, 83.5 yds/game
2011 Brazille 1146 yards, 14 games played, 81.9 yds/game
1983 Washington 866 yards, 11 games played, 78.7 yds/game
2013 Foster 1018 yards, 13 games played, 78.3 yds/game
1968 Snyder 777 yards, 10 games played, 77.7 yds/game
2018 White 987 yards, 13 games played, 75.9 yds/game

So, Owen is the leader, and it's not close, though it is quite close for 2d best.

Thanks, that's interesting. Just shows that anecdotal perceptions are not always accurate. In this case, part of it is a recall bias, since Todd was a friend back in the day, so each of his catches more easily got recorded in my memory than equally good catches by Owen. I do remember that when either Todd or Jay Maupin (Class of 1967), my then-girl friend's high school classmate, did something good on the field, we cheered extra hard.
