OSU I think is up there because of costs and Big Ten membership is a good sell for parents. Bowling Green is doing well lately I believe on cost mainly.

Ohio though is ranked ahead of Miami which is all that counts.

If you're coming from a family that makes less than 75K/year, Ohio, UC and Miami simply can't come close to competing with the aid package that OSU will offer.

Most of the private schools are not even posting their stats and the ACT range that starts at 16. Buf for the ones that do you can see that the battle zone is 3.8 or a 3.7 applicant. How much could Miami then drop? 3.8 or 3.7? Can't really be below that when they are discounting tuition relative to those expensive privates.

Miami has a big rep in business and its 50% greek. A certain student will always go for that.

I am too lazy to check. Miami at one point got rid of in-state and out-of-state tuition. What they did was give in-state students a bogus scholarship for being accepted and this dropped the enrolling in-state student down to about the same tuition as in-state OSU. I couldn't believe that Fiami made such a big deal out of someone being accepted getting this honorable scholarship when every single person was getting the same rate reduction! It probably fooled a few 18 year olds and parents who were excited they got dollars off the price.

First they quote you an inflated price, then they award you a "grant" which reduces the price somewhat. However, if you deal directly with the company in Marietta that makes the markers you can get an even cheaper price. And, when you deal directly with Sewah you can get your own organization's logo on the marker and not the OHC's.

I remember that. It was a lame p.r. stunt meant to try and pretend they are a private university, and it disappeared pretty quickly.
