He came off to me as a shameless self-promoter who essentially walked into benefitting from all the real heavy lifting that his predecessor had done. He parlayed that into the job at Brown, and they ran him off pretty quickly. I don't know how he did at Vanderbilt, but his second stint at OSU was a cluster****, and they ran him off. Now, it looks like he totally screwed WVU and exploded their budget thinking he could turn it into OSU. This is all you need to know: WVU has spent millions of dollars on construction projects in recent years, including a $100 million new home for the university’s business school, a $35 million renovation of a 70-year-old classroom building and $41 million for two phases of upgrades to the football team’s building.
