NCAA approved a rule that now allows players to transfer as many times as they want and maintain eligibility as long as they are in good academic standing. They’re ruining college sports.

Does the NCAA have a choice? I don't think they do.

Why don't you think so?

When I transferred to Ohio, I had to sit out a year. Why can that not again be how it works?

I admit that I haven't kept up on the specific court rulings, but my impression is that the whole portal system is driven, not by the NCAA, but by court rulings, and that the NCAA is just trying to administer a system of rules that fit within the court guidelines, rather than trying to come up with rules that are good for competition, or good for universities.

With a thin DL thanks to the transfer portal and other reasons, offers are flying around for us to find some replacements.

TJ Bollers - Wisconsin

It's called the U.S. Courts.

Jacoby still posting videos of him working out with the team.

Odd.

Hope he stays, but I have to admit if you put your name in the portal… your keys no longer work here.

I hope for the best for Mr. Buell but please, enjoy that crapshow Prime is putting together at Colorado. By midseason Prime will only be concerned with Shadeur's pro career and how he can turn that into a coaching gig in the NFL.

Most likely will be a crap show in Boulder this fall.

But Buell is getting his $$, which is THE priority for so many of these college athletes these days. And anyone can put up with crap if the $$ is high enough.

This is honestly the most interesting storyline for me.

How can Deion talk his way into a coaching gig in the NFL and draft his son... or even more interesting... NOT draft his son and draft Hunter instead. Juicy.

It looked like he was just running a few drills on his own with two guys. It wasn't a team activity or anything. I've walked into Peden when it wasn't in use a number of times and could have done essentially the same thing as they were doing.

I wouldn't doubt if this is a money grab move. It's become a huge factor in college athletics these days and is behind a lot of the player movement. So there's that, and you also have the novelty of getting to play for and be coached by Deion Sanders. It certainly carries a lot more pizazz than doing that for Tim Albin (that's not a dig on TA as I love the guy, but come on now). But down the road when he looks back at it, it'll certainly resonate with him. Still, all that said, getting a chance to go to Boulder is a fantastic opportunity. I've been there a number of times and simply love that place. I'd love to live in Boulder. I like Athens a lot, but I love Boulder. If I'm in Buell's shoes and I have the chance to get more money to go to Boulder and play for Prime, over staying in Athens for less money under Albin - come on man, that's a no-brainer. I wish him the best of luck there and fully expect him to enjoy it.

That may be a good sign as long as his health has fully recovered. We know what sort of level Harris is at and it may mean that Navarro is clearly better. But we need to get a backup QB somewhere now.

Exactly. I’m honestly surprised he didn’t leave last year. The writing has been on the wall for sometime. Best of luck to him. And I fully expect to see a QB brought in now.

Grad transfer with 3 years left.

We better find another QB from the transfer portal or else we are in trouble.

Well, that's interesting timing. He was all smiles before the spring game talking about the competition to make everyone better. I wonder if he was in danger of being relegated to 3rd string? I hope he's healthy and catches on somewhere he can play.

Trying to wrap my mind around how this is possible.

Gotta keep telling myself that college sports is a whole new animal.

2020 doesn't count
2021 doesn't play (redhsirt?)
2022 redshirt freshman, plays in six games
2023 plays in two games before shut down for unknown health reason. Medical redshirt?

I stopped trying to understand this stuff a while ago, but he didn't play more than a snap or two until 2022. Maybe they're considering all of that multiple redshirt years?

2020 - COVID
2021 - Official Redshirt?
2022 - Freshman
2023 - Medical Redshirt?
2024 - GRADUATE SOPHOMORE????
2025 -
2026 -

Will this ever trickle down to high school athletes?

I'm asking because my son is missing his junior year of baseball due to shoulder injury. Like his older sister, who missed most of her sophomore soccer season due to injury, you don't get those missed high school seasons back.

CJ's tweet (or whatever they are called now) was one of the best written I've seen from an athlete. Speaks well of the education he's received at Ohio.
