Sieh is listed as a RS-Jr, so it would appear he lost no eligibility in his year away from us. Probably wouldn’t have had Tyus if he didn’t leave, honestly worked out great.

His X post announcing his departure from Minnesota stated he had one year left, so unless there was a medical redshirt waiver acquired in the meantime, he has one year left.

He's no Anthony Tyus, but he certainly can help the cause.

Frankly, I don’t think there’s all that much difference between the two. Bangura was a 1000 yard rusher in 2022 and averaged 4.9 yards per carry, averaged 4.6 last year versus Tyus’s 5.1 this year. Tyus had 9 TD’s on 237 carries, Bangura had 20 on 400 carries in 2 years. Neither is a truly blazing runner, but I’ll take either one. We’ll be fine with him back if we can find offensive lineman up front. Hopefully Bangura has improved in all ways and can be all MAC-I wouldn’t doubt it at all.

The line is the key. Need at least two new Heideckers if the young'uns aren't ready.

Chase Hendricks reposting Sieh Bangura’s “I’m back” post. More evidence he plans on staying.

Nothing would surprise me, but I think most of the WR would be very smart to stay with Parker and try to fill that 1K void from Owen. Especially with Sieh back, I don’t think our offensive power drops off much at all. Find a few OL and we’re plowing. Unique opportunity to fill that void with no clear #1, and Chase having that leg up heading into 2025.

Armani Rhône is in the portal again. I wonder if we’ve reached back out? He still may not see his way into the top 2-3, but buddy is a huge target. What a beaut him and Williams would be in the red zone.

Assuming the information on this thread is correct and it will indeed be his last season this year, here is to hoping that he will have the season that Tyus did last year that he can use as a springboard to potentially play football at the professional level. And to that end, that's got to help to not have to worry about dealing with a learning curve anywhere near to the extent that Tyus did. He can also take his place as a leader in the runningback room with all his experience so the team should really benefit as well.

He was in the 2021 class, so just missed a double covid shirt.

Next season will be his 5th year. He was a redshirt in 2021. 800 yards in 2022. 1K in 23. Minnesota for 24. Back Home in 25.

And I couldn't be more excited.

I couldn’t either, but your stats are turned around for him-he had 1000+ in 2022 and 811 in 2023. His carries dropped by 50 or so and Allison who was returning from injury got them instead . Allison averaged 3.3 YPC, way under Bangura 4.6. I can’t figure out why Allison got so many carries )Maybe Bangura had injuries- can’t remember), but that’s history but it’s interesting to speculate what his yardage would have been if he had the carries like the year before.

The line didn't seem as strong in 23 as it was in 22. The way I remember it Bangura was taking lots of contact at the line of scrimmage in 23. Allison was more of a bowling ball back than Bangura so maybe that explains the usage for both.

Have to agree to disagree. Tyus was very good at the beginning of the season -- over 200 yards against the Orangepeople. He had a personal tragedy in early September (death of his sister) and his production very understandably trailed off. Came back strong at the end of the season. When he was at his best, IMHO, he was a good deal better than Bangura. Now, here's hoping that Bangura will be a better version of himself next year and step into Tyus' shoes.

Whole offense was ultra conservative in 23, almost everyone had worse stats overall. Rourke and Wigz as well.

That 2023 team had a strange feeling all year offensively so I don't really hold it against Sieh. Yes, Tyus was outstanding but Sieh is also outstanding. I believe Tyus will be playing on Sundays. He is just a man with his size and speed. Sieh is not as big but I like his pass catching ability a little more. He will pair well with the new freshman, Michael Taylor, or another back they may bring in. Now that Parker has developed into a 1,000-yard rusher, he can work on his passing game more and open up the run game even more in 2025. I could see Hendricks, Rodarte, Dennis, Pugh and Gossett really being a great receiver by committee with Sieh getting 100 tough yards per game.

Colton Grover 5'10" 185 D2 - Former WR for Parker from Desert Vista into the portal (saw it via Navarro's insta)

Had 450 yards receiving 5 TD last season.

Not gonna jump off the page, but his relationship with Navarro could land him in Athens. We seem to do well with these shifty little guys. Looks like he returned punts for them as well.

Portal trackers aren't showing any offers for our '24 players in the portal.

Granted, they may not tell the full story, but I still find it odd considering how quickly offers were rolling in last year.

Twitter shows Weaver visiting Wisconsin and Doggette visiting WVU, where his dad played. But neither report shows a confirmed offer.

Weaver will get paid a nice salary. These power four schools have cash to throw around for depth. Weaver is a good player and will get well compensated for his efforts.

If Coach Smith can reel back in Ricky Hunt and Bradley Weaver, next year's team can be dynamite.
Both might be doable (hopefully).
Get those 2 back and a few additions, Coach Smith will have himself one good team!
Go Coach !!!

With Bamgura back there is a slim to none chance that Hunt comes back. Also, this time around it seems like the money is too much to bring back Weaver despite his loyalty. Canlt be mad at it, just the world we live in

Yeah, Weaver is good enough to be a rotational guy. While I wish he would stay and be a version of our Dulac, I doubt he would enter and return two years in a row.

Hunt was posting Tulsa stuff. Maybe wishful thinking for him, but he’s from there and likely would rather be back home. With Sieh back, I don’t see him getting much of any PT next season. Though maybe Sieh could convince him to run it back as a 1-2 punch like in 23. Doubtful.

I wish Rickey the best and I think he’s a great player, but I don’t think we are in any trouble with Sieh, McCormick, Brune, and the two highly rated freshman coming in. Probably the best position for us to lose a good player from on the offense, if not the entire team.

Weaver has nothing left to prove here and I’ll root for him wherever he goes, but if the money doesn’t end up being that great from the P4 schools maybe Smith can talk to Boals about getting him whatever he wants off the Hugh White lot if he wants to have a stab at being a repeat champion.
