I'm watching Miami get throttled right now and I'm calling it now, Ohio is leaving Oxford with a win next week! Ohio's going to ruin Miami's season and end any hope of them getting back to the MACC. Book it!

I'm with you. Tonight wasn't pretty against Akron but the Zips to their credit came to play.

You can't afford a second loss in this 6 game MAC schedule. Unfortunately the Bobcats dropped the first game of the season against CMU which did not help things.

Buffalo looks like they are becoming the type of program which is going to be a factor in the MAC East on an annual basis, much like Toledo always is in the MAC West. This is a good development for the division as Kent and Akron can't win with consistency.

Kent nice showing tonight against BG but it was BG. They are probably a year away yet from a serious run at the title.

Most Memorable Bobcat Events Attended
2010 97-83 win over Georgetown in NCAA 1st round
2012 45-13 victory over ULM in the Independence Bowl
2015 34-3 drubbing of Miami @ Peden front of 25,086

Miami was fortunate to get past Ball State, probably should have lost, and tonight they looked, well, pretty bad. Ohio could have beaten CMU and wasn't going to lose to Akron no matter what. Ohio will be rolling into Oxford feeling good and Miami is reeling right now.

We should be getting some key players back next week as well.

Kent has the best quarterback in the conference. They are my pick to win the whole shebang this year.

Loser of Ohio/Miami is pretty much done.

Fiami's success depends on whether Gabbert is available. He was knocked out early in the BSU game with a head injury. He was going through concussion protocol and missed last night's game. Mayer came in and played very well vs BSU (16/24, 212 yds, 3 TDs) but was awful last night (7/25, 116 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT). He probably would be somewhere in between vs us next week.

Fiami's secondary has been awful -- 309 yds vs BSU; 353 yds and 4 TDs last night. Their run defense hasn't done well either -- 165 yds vs BSU; 209 last night. We should do well if we can keep them out of our backfield (they had six sacks vs BSU).

We still control our own destiny to the MACCG; they don't control theirs.

We will get by.
We will get by.

The chances of this team going to the MACCG are about as probable as me getting a date with Taylor Swift. Miami schools us next week and maybe NEXT year we will win the conference. Then the Lord will reward Frank by having him ascending directly to heaven like Jesus.

Unfortunately, I have accepted that the Bobcats will fail to win a conference championship in my lifetime, since I am an old smoker.

I am now 71 and I was in school for our last MACC (haha). I came to the conclusion I would never see another one about 5 years ago. We just don't recruit enough good players and get them on the field at the same time. Disappointing.

Come on guys, lots of folks said Biden had no chance and look what happened. Have faith - it's the MAC - it's 2020 - anything can happen.

Have respect for OUr rivals. AJ is a passing machine from KY. Even as a backup he has more passing yards than Gabbert than Gabbert and Rourke.

The group of the week on Defense is our DBs. Mayer likes to get the ball out on short routes. So we need to be ready to react.

On offense its the WRs. Miami's defense is giving up 36.5 points a game and the passing D gives up 300 yrds a game. We need to pass more this week as Miami will line someone outside our tackles this week to stop the run.

My thoughts exactly. I said Ohio will get to the MACC and win it WITH the "help" of Covid. Keep in mind, the MAC is the only conference yet to be affected by a cancelled game. You know they're coming. And, Ohio will have played both Akron and BG before the rest of the East contenders played both and Ohio doesn't play the two teams in first place in the East (Buffalo and Kent State) until the final two games of the schedule. There's a chance one or both of those games might not even be played. Winning percentage is likely going to decide the division winner and Ohio will be 3-1 (if OU beats Miami) through 4 games (with the loss coming from a crossover game) and you only need to play 3 games to be eligible for the MACC. I'm telling you, if Covid strikes the MAC, it's likely going to "benefit" Ohio over any other East team.

Western Michigan beat Akron 58-13 and we beat them 24-10. It's nothing ironclad in terms of evidence, but these scores give us a data point to consider that our D is starting to look pretty solid. But, even if you add in the two missed chip shot field goals, that is 30-10 in terms of offensive production. That still looks like underproduction to me considering how bad Akron is. Our 3rd down efficiency was 44% (7 of 16). So I think the key to this game will be how well each offense plays assuming our D shows up big like they did against Akron.

My thoughts lately on this is it would be worth the investment to pay up for a position coach with a reputation as a great recruiter.

PJ Fleck's staff was able to recruit their way to a Cotton Bowl within a couple of classes so it can be done.

I received 31 emails today asking for money, because Biden actually lost!

Jim Grobe had a fantastic recruiter - McCarthy? McCarty?

“Shady” Ray McCartney! Great guy, excellent recruiter and position coach. He’s at Davidson now.
