We should take a hard look at this guy, he shoots 50% from 3, he is a great defender with a 6’10 wing span.

Nobody despises to lose more than I do. That's got me into trouble over the years, but it also made a man of mediocre ability into a pretty good coach. Woody Hayes

Transferred to Akron after a good freshman year at Florida. Sat out the 17-18 season and then vanished at some point in the middle of the academic year 18-19. Never played in any games for the Zips. No reason why he transferred out of Akron to be found on the Zips board. Somehow currently a sophomore despite this being his fourth year removed from high school. Don't know how that works academically even if he never took classes last year.

Seems like an elite shooter, but shooting guard does not appear to be a hole on next year's roster.

Since we seem to live by the three, he may be able to start immediately, we would need to see why he left Akron and see where he is academically, but if we he have someone else leave, he could definitely play some meaningful minutes. I think he shot 60% from 3 at Florida.

Unless there is some new caveat, this young man would have 1 year of eligibility left. His clock began in 2016-17, transfer year/Red-shirt 2017-18, Sat out (still counts as a 4 to play 5) 2018-2019, now at Tallahassee Community for 2019-20. Possibility of a 6th year if some type of injury was at the heart of the 2018-19 season, but I think that seems unlikely here. Also what may be unlikely is having the degree in one year at the JUCO to be able to move on.

So you wanna take a flyer on a guy who has been to three schools in 4 years (it will be 4 in 5) with possibly questionable academic standing? If he flamed out at Akron, what makes you think he could work here?

I don’t know his academic status, he seemed to qualify and do well at an SEC school. I said let’s investigate his situation. If he is good academically, he would be a great signee. He plays great defense and shoots over 50% from 3, yes, let’s make it happen.
