Bowling Green had a good class of about 3,500. Record freshman GPA of 3.67.

My guess some of this is about making the ACT/SAT optional and places like BG are pulling in from small high schools without rigorous curriculums running up the GPAs.

Looking around Wright State and UC are up in enrollment. Can't find anything yet on Akron or Kent.

Toledo is up but only has 11,454 undergraduates.

It's called grade inflation and weighted grades.

That is not done everywhere in the state like Athens High school.

Akron's overall enrollment has grown for the first time in 9 years -- by 5 students.

Its undergraduate enrollment continues to decline. Down 600ish vs. last year.

True - I know of no other school that has a 6.0 scale - but many have a 5.0 scale.

It's a 6.3 scale, even their "unweighted" scale is 4.4

Right you are. 6.33 for an A+ in AP or CC+, 5.33 for an A+ in Honors, and 4.33 for an A+ in College Prep/regular. I was going to post that but didn't think anyone would believe those numbers.

A grade of a C+ in an AP or CCP class would be a 4.33. And NHS requirement was a 3.85. 100 kids a year inducted into NHS.

The news is Athens enrollment is up 4.6%, which would seem to put our undergraduate enrollment above 15K.

15,545 if my numbers are right and we're talking about Athens campus undergraduate enrollment.

Based on another thread, any increases in applications and enrollment are due to Coach Boals.

No offense to either gentleman but I'd bet half of the freshman class couldn't name the head football or basketball coach if asked.

Or, who we got our independence from and why we celebrate the 4th of July.

[My favorite answer to that question a few years ago when a reporter went out among a group of college-aged people and asked it just before the 4th was: "Germany"! My second favorite answer was: "France." Well, at least they kind of, sort of, had the right continent.]

Without googling it, all I can come up with are:

State of Confusion

State of Disbelief

State of Denial
