Woolfolk sucks. We are losing because we cannot stop his teammates.

He’s averaging nearly 9 points and 7 rebounds per game and he does the dirty work. We would take that in a heartbeat.

He also has 8 rebounds today. That’s exactly what we need more of.

Reminds me of years ago when I would say all we should do is get into a 6’5” and under league and we would really be dangerous.

This crew just does not value possessions.

Vic can score when he’s the bigger stronger guy.

That’s it, boys, stand in the lane and leave the best three-point shooting team in the conference wide open.

Can we not have a good set play out at this time out and get a damn basket? We simply have no lead out there.

Boals basically never runs set plays.

This seems to be the case.

On a similar note, I was remarking earlier in the game to another Ohio fan via a text that I remember that when a star player on the other team got three fouls Jim Snyder would often design plays that would create matchups that would bait the other player into fouling. It often worked. I said that I never remember Boals trying that. My friend wryly replied, "But their subs played better than Elmer." To which, I replied, "Well, in that case, it wouldn't work." But, my point still stands, why not try this kind of thing every now and then.

Huge possession. We still have a chance. Will we get a good set out of this?

Got the look. Team just doesn't really give you much confidence in these situations that they can execute. Everything just feels a little too hard for us to be a good team.

Out of all the ways to lose, missing a wide open layup with 1.3 seconds left is a deflating way to go down after an amazing comeback late...

No Pav. He beats his man, gets a point blank uncontested layup and blows it.

I mean, he got fouled twice in the attempt.

Call a time out down two and shoot the three--how long would OHIO have lasted in OT? Go for the win. Especially when refs are not calling em.

One thing I don't want to hear... How this team can't compete with the rest of the MAC. Some of the posts on this thread speculating about them doing awful against the bottom of the league are kinda ridiculous considering our two losses in full games since Clayton went down were close games against Toledo and Miami. This team is still talented but they need to learn how to play better as a unit and finish out some of these games. They're 1-2 with this group against three quality opponents. This is still a MAC Tournament squad unless they let everything fall apart.

Let’s face it, there are a lot of teams in this league that are better than our B team

For some reason, we are just soft as hell at the rim. We rarely finish when fouled at the rim or the shot gets blocked. I’ve never seen anyone airball a layup like Pav did in that situation. Was he expecting contact? Have to go up stronger.

I ask again. Is this team making the MAC Tourney?

Got bumped, but nobody was at the rim. Can’t miss it. Sorry.

I’ve been wanting to say this for two weeks now. Just haven’t figured out how to say it without getting banned. We’re down our top 2 players and we’re taking good teams to the final minute. AJB has been a difference maker and Pav is doing exactly what JP did, run the offense.

Most times we are just too small or lack of physicality to score in the lane. Pav may have been fouled, but he had an easy shot to make. The fouls were before he went up.

This is almost always the case when a team is down their top 2 players who were both fringe first team all-MAC. Really hard to beat good teams after that. Thankfully the bottom of the MAC is nowhere near good and we should steal a few more Ws. Question is when/if Clayton comes back.

If he's done for the year, so are we. Simple as that.

Why would asking if we make the tournament be a dumb question? Isnt tha the goal every year. And are we now not on the bubble?

Correct. Everything comes down to Clayton being able to return. If he does, just make it to Cleveland and see if you can get hot playing with house money.

If he doesn't, it's just about playing hard and seeing if the young group can develop and grow. Either way, this should still be an above .500 team that should compete on most nights against teams not named Akron.

We are not on the bubble right now. Have you looked at the MAC standings?
