Gabe needs to be wished success in his future endeavors by the coaching staff. Could very well be a great kid it just didn't work out here. A complete swing and a miss.

Everyone knows it's possible the student web manager of ohiobobcats.com just made a mistake in omitting him right?

Not LIKELY but definitely possible. They aren't infallible.

I say this only because we have zero confirmation that he's either left the team or entered the portal from anyone, anywhere.

For all we know he's either still with the team, or just quit basketball to be John Q. Student. Or dropped out and is now driving trucks. All are still possible at this point.

Well, maybe I overstated my feelings here, but it seems that a number of recent posts have been more of the "pissing contest" variety than ones that actually added to our mutual fund of knowledge on the subject at hand.

Nobody will probably read this, and any who will probably will boo, but I just want to go on record as saying I like The Wiz. He frustrated me as well he did anyone else sometimes, but he gave good effort and played his best ball at the very end of his tenure (should it be over).

This propels Wiz into legendary status IMO. The fact he's going to make a lot of money playing basketball somewhere is jaw dropping to those who watched his career closely.

I don't remember who posted the theory of Israeli pro ball and his heritage being lucrative, but that sure seems to square with reports he is going overseas. I don't see how he could have secured a Pro Euro spot otherwise.

Very curious what "a lot of money" is in this context. There's no way he's playing in the Euroleague, and once you get past the best few leagues in Europe the salaries get pretty meager.

Don't get me wrong -- making enough to get by and getting to live in Europe is great either way -- but I don't think it's a get rich kind of thing.

Laughing? Goodness….I’m so happy for The Whiz that he’s leaving Athens and getting his “reported” big Euro deal. Again, congrats to The Whiz.

As for my hoop skills, I once set a pick, rolled to the basket, took a low pass and scored a basket over Gary Trent in the Convo. So you can’t question my skills when it comes to setting a legal screen without moving my feet, catching the ball, and making a lay-up over Ohio’s greatest player of all-time. That one play alone should get me a Euro deal.

Why would you think I’m unhappy with life? I am really good in that department. I am actually thrilled how this off-season is going. The Whiz is turning pro and is going to make it rain with cash and we have a heck of a guard coming in. Now if Boals can lock up another portal 6-8+ guy I will be ecstatic.
