You've got the keys now.

Proud of Jason Preston. Would have loved one more year, but I don't know how he doesn't get drafted now after being the best player on the floor today at the NBA Combine. Well done JP.

He's currently projected as undrafted, so today's performance probably vaults him into the second round.

But second round picks do not get multiple years guaranteed. Some are able to negotiate that, but it's not a guarantee by any stretch. Moving into the second round doesn't guarantee he leaves. I think a promise from a team and multiple years guaranteed will (and should) be enough for him to leave.

At this point, I'm just hoping it's the Knicks.

A starting lineup of Sears, McDay, BVP, Rod and Wilson with Brown and Carter with experience off the bench, a banger in Granger and sick jumpers Towns and IJ!!!! I want Preston back but this team is stacked!

Please don't start projecting lineups now. We don't know who will be on our roster next year. Recruiting the portal, etc.

I missed the first half of the game and didn’t replay it to see the first half, but while Mr Preston did a good job I don’t see him being the best player on the floor. Anyway, his play has almost certainly increased his draft stock so we may have seen the last of him. We’ll see.

Don't remember seeing Towns' sick jumper last year.

Got a lot of run, talked about a lot by Bilas and Co. Got into double figures. I don't think he had any assists, but he should have had four or five if his teammates could finish good looks. Looked like good chemistry with Grimes from Houston and the center out of Utah State (that guy's huge). Definitely looked like he belongs. I think we gotta fill some scholarships.

Good for Jason! I hope he goes in the 1st Round, and if not the 1st Round, the top half of the 2nd. Hes a great ambassador for Ohio University.

And to go back on topic, I think Ohio's in good hands with Mr. Sears. In Coach Boals I trust!!

Don't phrase this so definatively until something official. It's misleading.

Well Jeff, what good is a forum for if not to post random comments, controversial takes and bold, uninformed predictions? It seems like just yesterday I was posting about Coach Christian signing Tariq Owens and that Tariq was going to make our former Ohio target and then Miami signee, Zack McCormick rue the day by eating lots of leather… Well, that very next year, no Christian, no Owens and Zack never saw much playing time for Miami… Ah, youth.
I personally like any excitement and energy we can get around the program.
That’s why I almost always say….

Arkley seems to think it's likely Jason leaves at this point. I honestly feel pretty good about Mark Sears running things. Would I feel better if Preston came back, yes. But I think last year showed that Sears can step in and do a great job.

+1

Two different point guards for sure. I love how Sears can bang in the paint consistently and take a hit and score.

Im very bullish on Sears moving forward.

No one else on the roster id rather shoot free throws late in the game. Looking forward to 21-22!

Same here. In certain ways, I liked his game better than JP's, and the free throw shooting was one of those. I'd still rather have them both back this fall though. ;)

+1 Agree on both points.

He now has the keys for 3 years and I couldn't be more thrilled. Sears, BVP, DW3, Roderick, McDay, Brown, Carter and Granger with IJ and still TWO schollies (1 if Schmock is scholly)! Sign me up. JP will be an impact NBA player but Sears for 3 years is excellent as well.

Wasn't misleading at all. Anyone who saw him excel in the combine knew his college career was over.

The 2022/2023 high school classes in Central Ohio are loaded, so might wait to spend those there. Or, a couple one and done guys to fill out spots.

I say go for the best player we can get in the portal right now. I've never been a big fan of holding onto scholarships.

I get that, probably what's right for this group next year. After next year, lots of change. Trying to play for the present, but still be planning for the future.
