I am a little confused, the Bobcat Bash for the OSU game this time around seems to be very different.  Looks like it costs $50 and is including alcohol in the cost as well.  I thought these things usually ran $20 and just included food and non-alcoholic drinks?

I was wondering what was going on that weekend.

But $50 seems steep for people that are already going to the game.

So the big question is which parking lot will the official BobcatAttack tailgate be?

Just remember Columbus has really cracked down on public consumption in the lots.  Not saying it's not happening but I am saying they are writing well over 100 tickets every game.

I went on a tour of the Horseshoe a couple of weeks ago during a Thrivent Financial showcase and it sounded like since Gordon Gee came back that they weren't as bad as they were during the Karen Holbrook years.

Also I called the alumni association and got some clarification, the Bobcat Bash for the OSU game is really for fans without tickets, supposedly there was a demand for it.  So since they won't be sponsoring any normal pre-game activities for those of us going to the game is anyone interested in setting up a BobcatAttack tailgate?

Why do fans not have tickets?  We still have some!  Call and get yours today!

This is completely false. Especially since Gee's return.

Actually, tix are back in the hands of OSU. They are currently selling tix this morning to OSU Alumni. Remaining tix go on sale to general public through Ticketbast@rd on Friday.

To say "completely false" is a gross exaggeration, and the President of the University has little to do with State Liquor Control Agents.

How in the world do we NOT sell our allotment of tickets

Completely false was probably the wrong choice of words. It's definitely gone down since the previous President at OSU (Karen Holbrook).

Tickets available for Ohio State's first four games

TicketBast@rd

For what its worth, most people are trying to snatch up the Miami (Fl) tix. I'm guessing that there will be tix available for our game on Friday.

People complain about the cost of tickets to games in Athens when a family of four can attend six games for $24.25 per person, FOR THE WHOLE SEASON, and you can't figure out why people won't drop $70 for one seat for one game?!

Also remember, there are a bunch of fence stradling, dually allegiant Ohio Alums that likely already had tickets for the game and didn't need to go through the ticket office to purchase them.

My sources tell me we sold a significant amount more for this years game through the ticket office than we did in 2008, and that we were allocated twice as many tix as we were in 2008.

Funny you mention that. Since my brother is an alum he has a crack and offered me a chance to grab a 3rd seat. No use for me, But....

Section 24AA!!!

$76... I have 15 minutes, so anyone want a ticket?

I am interested in attending ANY BobcatAttack tailgate... I just don't have a way to set it up, but I'll help where I can since I do have a contact with a person that deals with Ohio State parking on gameday and can ask him which lot would be best.

If we returned tickets to OSU  without polling Bobcat Club members then I am very disappointed in US.  In 2008, I was able to buy tix from the "excess" above my "allotment".  i would have gladly done so again, if given the chance.

That would  benefit us by showing support through our ticket office,
increasing the number of fans of OU in the horseshoe,
and exhibiting unpromised benefits to Bobcat Club members!

This is the age of email - a broadcast message to everyone who responded to the first request could have produced immediate results.

What's the deal?

I agree. I bought 4 per my Bobcat Club membership. But likely would have purchased more if given the chance. When I called the ticket office on the day of the deadline, they were under seige. Had to extend the deadline by a day so I assumed ticket sales were good. But at $70 a pop, I can't say I'd be as interested next year. I like the opportunity to visit the Tennessee, Ohio State and Penn State's of the world, just not the same one year after year.

They were still selling easily after the deadline, I went on vacation just before the deadline and forgot to order before I left.  Came back almost two weeks after the deadline and was able to get section 1A tickets.

Know all about the glass houses, and I applaud OSU's zero tolerance approach that got them off of the Nightly News.  No messing around with that stuff, caught = GONE!  If we would do that, and aggressively do that (this year was the closest we've come) a lot of this nonsense would stop.

This will be an unpopular opinion, but it's my honest belief.

The administration has made a decision to push the Ohio Bobcat Club as a method to procure tickets to select events. For quite some time, they stated repeatedly that the opportunity to purchase tickets within the Ohio allotment would be based upon OBC membership.

As an OBC member, I question why I should participate in something that purports to open the door to ticket opportunity, then allows anybody to have the same opportunity when there were not enough club members to use the allotment.

Furthermore, our ticket allotment is most likely the primary source of our payday for playing this game. An unsold ticket would impact our bottom line. At a given point, a decision should be made that a proper opportunity was provided to Ohio fans and tickets should be made available to a guaranteed selling outlet. And, given the demand market, the wording of our contract probably specifies a date at which unsold tickets must be returned (complete speculation).

Personally, I believe that selling these tickets from the Ohio athletics office past the stated deadline to non-OBC members is a slap in the face. One may call it blackmail, or whatever other ugly term they like to describe the policy of basing ticket availability on a club membership, but when the policy has been stated, the policy needs to be followed.

Agreed....It was my understanding that any unsold tickets would be re-offered to OBC members in excess of the original limit....I am not sure if anyone was contacted
