21-2 At the half, Wildcats winning. I know it's halftime against a PAC-10 opponent, but if the Bobcats have a great showing tomorrow night, I will feel extremely confident about our chances next week. Toledo's defense came out with some energy midway through the first quarter, but they're over-persuing too much and Arizona is excelling at misdirection plays. I'm not at all impressed with Toledo's quarterback play, nor am I impressed with their discipline; they have committed four offsides penalties in the half.

Great student turnout and noise, the adults could have done better. It'll be interesting to see who has headed home for the night.

This game is a great example of the pluses and minuses often discussed on this board about OOC scheduling and getting better quality opponents at home.

On the plus side The Glass Bowl looks really good on ESPN, the crowd looks large and rowdy, the student section is boisterous and the facilities look good.

On the down side Toledo is getting their ass kicked. It 34-2 at the beginning of the 4th quarter and they just showed a wide shot of the crowd and the bleachers are cleared out.

On the other end of the spectrum is OHIO's opener tomorrow against Wofford. No ESPN, FCS team, not sure about size of crowd but could be decent with it being move in day, but it should be a win.

Going into week 2 would you rather be a Toledo fan coming off a big loss at home or an OHIO fan coming off an easy win at home?

Ideally I'd like option 3- play a team like AZ at home and beat them on ESPN.

The kind of attack that Arizona is using against UT -- especially the passing attack -- is something we can use against them next week.  I suspect that we can pass as well, if not better, than the Wildcats against the D (or lack thereof) that I'm seeing from the Rockettes tonight.  This doesn't look like one of the UT teams of old.  As I recall, UT has won more than its share of these home BCS games.  In recent years they beaten Colorado and Kansas at home.  And, not too long ago they became only the second MAC team to beat a certain western Pennsylvania team on MAC home turf.   So I wouldn't try to draw too many conclusions from this one game as to the value of tough home non-conference competition.
